==/tg/ relevance and recommended Dreamworks films== Dreamworks was, for a long time, not popular on 4chan. Especially on /co/ because, being the fedora-tipping bunch they were (even by 4chan's standards), they saw most of their films as mediocre comedy schlocks that miraculously broke records for no good reason, and only served as yet another excuse for western audience to percieve animation as a "genre" for children. That, for course, doesn't mean that Dreamworks didn't had any hits which resonated with the website or the internet. === The Good Shit === 4chan, including /tg/, are particularly fond of the following films: *The Road to El Dorado; You probably only remember it because of the Hot Chick in it (and also the "Both is good" meme), but it's a cozy adventure film very reminscent of old 50s swashbucklers. It's a simply flick, but you can get a good chuckle over that one. *Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas; Another flick you might just remember because it had a sexy villain. Also another really cool adventure film. There are no seven seas to really see, but a whole set of great animation set pieces and constant action that leaves you hungry for more. *Prince of Egypt; the Movie those Non-Bible-reading, torch-holding, proselyting, cult-like Evangelist WISHED they had made. It's the Story of Moses, just with more moral ambiguity and less preaching. Also gorgeous animation. *Rise of the Guardians; also known as "that movie with the guy people tried to ship Elsa from Frozen with". Bretty good. Nothing groundbreaking by any means but still an enjoyable movie about Santa Claus kicking ass. C. S. Lewis would be proud. *Megamind; Great comedy film about a super-villain finally beating his super-heroic rival... And finding the end result boring. People mostly remember it for its humor and the memes it has left in it's wake (like Metroman looking like Markiplier). However, it also has moments which are a great deconstruction of capeshit. *How to Train Your Dragon; Vikings. Riding Dragons. Nuff said. *Shrek; A testament to Dreamwork's still on-going rivalry with Disney, the perfect antithesis to everything Walt ever produced in his hayday. The character Puss in Boots, who also a parody of Zorro, got his own spinoff film and series which are decent but mostly forgettable, but after several years of nothing new, at end of the 2022 Dreamworks released Puss In Boots: The Last Wish, which turned out to be an unexpected masterpiece which has been praised for its revised art style and great villains, including the most terrifying wolf Furry you will ever see (and edgelord Furries wished their fursona was) and the most hilariously unapologetically evil bastard in history. *Kung Fu Panda; Wuxia, for kids. More specifically, Wuxia with a fat panda voiced by Jack Black kicking lots and lots of ass. With surprisingly good writing for a comedy/family film. ===The Horrible, horrible stuff=== Yeah, because as it turns out, Dreamworks has a reputation for making terrible movies. Disney might be catching them up when it comes to the Good/bad film ratio, but Dreamworks really made it their mark of fabric for a long, long time. Watch these at your own risk, although we don't get why you would want to watch them.
