===Increasing/adding backgrounds===

Players earn new backgrounds and background dots at ST discretion based on in-character play, or metagame suggestions.<br>
The more awesome stuff you do, the more likely you'll get dots.<br>

All background dots acquired after character generation, can for 3xp each, be granted 'plot armor'. Which is to say that they cannot be removed by idle chance or through normal course of play. Best example would be Resources. If you spend 3xp per dot, your resources cannot again be lowered past the dot you spent to, due to in-game purchases and the like. The implication is that at that point, your character in incredibly financially secure, like Batman.

This plot armor does not necessarily protect against ALL eventualities, but it protects from random chance. For example, buying a large city  will set you back. But it is player choice.

This plot armor applies to most backgrounds, including Artifacts found or taken at chargen, Followers, Manses, etc. Discuss all theoretical purchases with the ST first.
