===Auxilia and Allies===

At the outset of the Great Crusade, the First Legion was able to draw on the [[Imperial Army (Hektor Heresy)|Imperial Army]] units raised from the Solar System itself, the famous Solar Auxilia.  As the Legion spread its influence through the Segmentum Solar, Hektor settled the mortal veterans of his conquests on newly-compliant worlds - establishing the famous Cleruchies.  These military colonies would come to provide their own regiments, modeled upon the formations of their forefathers, in what became known as ''Solar-pattern'' Auxilia.
