== Board Culture == Here are some basic terms and concepts than have become entrenched in /fit/ culture. If you don't already know all of this, you really need to lurk more before posting on the board. In addition to terms unique to the board, /fit/ posters use a lot of fitness jargon. For example, a post that read "Just started SS+GOMAD" would have the meaning "I have just began the fitness program Starting Strength and, in addition, I am also drinking a gallon of milk every day." If you encounter terms you're unfamiliar with, the best thing to do is consult your search engine of choice. === Architect === n. v. To cause someone to gain weight, or a person who causes someone to gain weight, usually someone close to the architect, usually via clandestine methods. Architects' motivations can vary from those who want to help someone gain muscle as well as fat and achieve a higher level of physical fitness to fat fetishists. Compare to fat fetishist slang feeder, a person who gains sexual enjoyment from feeding another person and causing them to gain weight. /fit/ is currently one of if not the only place where architects are known to gather. Currently architects are such an obscure community that they can operate with close to impunity. Expect them to become a scandal once information of them spreads to the larger internet. === Coinslot === Heresy n. (Sensitive) === DYEL === n. (Sensitive) An abbreviation of "Do you even lift?" A DYEL is a person who has such little success with their physical fitness journey that an outside observer would doubt they even started one. The most extreme insult unique to /fit/. To call someone a DYEL is to deny their status as someone who strives towards self improvement. === Gains === n. Muscle. More generally, any form of self-improvement. The goal of any /fit/izen. ==== Gains Goblin ==== n. A creature of legend that steals gains from innocent /fit/ posters in the night. Often used metaphorically, e.g. "Cardio is a gains goblin" === Manlet === n. (Sensitive) Any man of below average height. Alternatively, any man shorter than the poster. Perhaps the board's most common insult. ==== King of Manlets ==== n. A man of average height. ==== Womanlet ==== n. A very short woman. Also an insult, but less much commonly used than manlet, as many users see nothing wrong with short women. === Hamplanet === n. Alternatively obeast, butter golem, "person", >person, >p. Synonym of Fatfuck. Technically also (Sensitive), but not used as such on /fit/, as there all forms of insulting the obese are actively encouraged and perceived as a method of supporting them to lose weight. === Mire === n. Admiration, usually sexual attraction, usually from the opposite sex. Most /fit/ posters went all of their early lives without being considered attractive, and as such mires are highly valued to them. Posters will often make threads to share their recent and best mires, and receiving one's first mire is considered an important milestone on one's /fit/ journey. v. "Mirin". Sometimes used more casually as a pleasantry e.g. "Mirin those arms" would mean "I think your arms look nice". === Mog === v. To be so superior to someone that the difference is starkly obvious. Something mogs something else where the circumstances of the situation has made a comparison between the two inescapable, and the comparison is unfavorable to the latter party. Most commonly used to refer to a difference in physique or physical ability, but the term can be used with any type of superiority. Mog threads where users talk about the times they have mogged others and been mogged by others, as well as posting various things they consider mogging (often facetiously) are a common /fit/ occurance. === WAGMI === "We're all gonna make it", alternatively, "We are gonna make it". To "make it" is to fulfill all one's goals and dreams, and has a deep individual meaning to every /fit/izen. Users often end many of their posts with the word wagmi as both a symbol and an act of camaraderie, jubilation, and hope. Moreso than any other term, the mark of a true /fit/izen. E.g. "Saw myself in the mirror this morning and thought I looked good for the first time in years. wagmi"
