==IRL== Manufactured by FMC, the AAVP7 "Amtrak" replaced the LVTP-5 in 1972 as the US Marines Corps' primary assault transport. Its predecessor had been a literal boat-on-tracks that carried a full platoon but could barely turn on land, where this new design was intended to be a fully amphibious IFV. The AAVP7 and has served a multitude of conflicts around the world since its introduction Seeing Service in the intervention in Lebanon, Grenada, the Persian Gulf War, and the War on Terror. It is positively one of the worst vehicles to ever serve in. Imagine a vehicle built in the 70s, last updated in 2004, that has been run into the dirt for 15 years. That's the AAV. It breaks all the time, it's loud as hell, and you'll positively get some sort of disease from using diesel fuel to clean the walls. Oh, and all the embarked infantry will leave piss bottles and MRE trash on the deck whenever they disembark. Your rear crewman is a glorified janitor. Their moto is YAT YAS, "You Ain't Tracks, You Ain't Shit." The AAVP7 is slated to be replaced by the USMC with the Amphibious Combat Vehicle (which came in under budget and on time for once). A variant of the Italian Iveco SuperAV. The first shipment of which was delivered at the end of 2018. It is currently undergoing a transition into the Fleet Marine Corps. Whether it will actually replace the AAVP7 any time soon remains to be seen, just ask the M113 how that whole replacement thing goes. Meanwhile Japan is purchasing licensed copies from the US to form an amphibious readiness force. US Forces in Team Yankee
