==History and Legends== Anyhow, with their advanced hunting techniques, the Slanera managed to hunt half a dozen Bords. These can feed the tribe for some time if they preserve them. The Slanera return successful with lots of food to store. They next turn their attention to expanding over the island, but first they need shelters. They set out to collect wood from Frilla tree's and construct shelters. They find Frilla trees, but the sparse population of them in the island meant they'll have to make each building out of a single tree. The Slanera build simple shelters by cutting a trunk in two and driving each half into the ground then putting a crosspiece made of a thick branch bridging them tied in place with fibres and then laying other branches and leaves against the cross piece. The Slanera then try to increase their area of control by spread their village out and moving warriors further out to expand their borders. The Slanera's expansion goes unopposed, since the Bord of the island has learned not to mess with them. The Slanera decide to focus on their technology and get their greatest minds together to try and develop digging/mining tools to manipulate the earth. Try as they might, the Slanera cannot work the Ramel blades to make it dig. It seems like the Ramel blades aren't strong enough to be used for prolonged digging, and the Lem themselves haven't quite grasped the concept of digging. The Slanerians equip their warriors with spears, and their new Bow and arrows and send them out to scour the coasts of the island to look for anything of interest. (Rolling for in-depth exploration of the island) The scouts return with reports of abundant Flatworems (fish analogue) off the south coast, a large population of Fluz to the west end of the island, and overall, the island has good game population (Ramel, Bord). Here are the Fluz, they're a kind of big annoying fuzzballs the size of a Lem's fist which spits sticky goo. Their hair is causing irritations on exposed/soft flesh. With their new poison and weapons, the Slanera feel secure enough to begin populating further out to cover as much of the island as they can before turning their attention to the mainland. Warriors and settlers head out to populate the island. The Slanera send out several hunters to gather large amounts of food necessary to expand to cover the whole island. At first failed to find any game, for winter is severe and the animals hiding. They went to the southern coast to search for prey, but instead they found half a dozen frozen Aquatic Hoppa carcasses on the beach. What calamity had caused them to die here? But no matter, the Slanera knew what food is, although they never seen such things before. The Slanera drag bring the hoppa corpses back to the village and butcher them for later. Now that food was in stock, they attempt to expand. The winter wind on this island is severe. A few weeks of very strong winds have prevented the Slanera from expanding, for they are busy fastening their homes to the ground. The Slanera settle in to wait out the wind. The village chief calls the great minds together once again, to invent digging tools. A breakthrough is achieved! A negligent Lem had left his Ramel-blade axe too close to a campfire. The resulting blade proves to be hard enough to cut through the frost-mired ground! It seems that the Ramel's blades contain minuscule traces of metal. The village chief immediately orders more earthshifters to be made. The chief sends a group of Lem to the outskirts of the village and orders them to dig a tunnel down into the ground, a diagonal one so it can be walked back up. The Lem believe that there must be something under the ground, like earth spirits, or maybe underground lem! Besides the massive interlinked roots of the intelligent Mevolas, the Slanera found rocks. But these are different from surface rocks. Due to its black color and bluish glimmers, they call it the Star-Rock. These Star-Rocks burn blue, and they burn for longer than Frilla wood. The Slanera quickly used it for strengthening their Ramel blades, making them tougher than usual. The Slanera tries to expand again, but yet another wind-squall happened. They would probably need to adapt to these island wind conditions, possibly through their newfound digging technology. [[Category:Primordial Evolution Game]] [[Category:Evolution Games]]
