==Bloodlines: The Legendary== In contrast to the Hidden, these vampiric bloodlines are famous - or at least infamous, with a notoriety that sees them talked about far and wide in the Requiem, even if only as myths. Bron: Ventrue Bloodline. Believing themselves the metaphysical if not literal descendants of the Fisher Kings, sacred rulers at one with the lands over which they reigned who emerged from pagan British Celtic beliefs and were then absorbed into British Christianity, the Bron are a Bloodline simultaneously divided by faith - the pagans of the Circle vs. the Christians of the Lancea et Sanctum - and united by their common desire; the find the Holy Grail and be cured of their curse, which causes their fate to turn lethally sour should ever they be granted a realm of their own to rule over. Their unique Discipline of Crochan allows them to manipulate the innate healing abilities of vampires, both to augment their own recovery and to blight the healing of their enemies. The Carnival: Daeva Bloodline. Created when a vampire stumbled across a traveling sideshow freak who had been so abused that she begged him for death, the Carnival are vampires cursed with extreme mutation. As in, you have to take either an incurable physical impairment of some kind, or the Nosferatu clan weakness because you are just that freaky looking. The Discipline they call simply "The Show" is a poor man's Vicissitude, allowing them to warp and deform their already twisted bodies into even more monstrous guises. Children of Judas: Daeva Bloodline. Created by embracing dying suicides, the Suicide Kings are still haunted by the lingering echoes of the pain that drove them to embrace death, which compels them to explore and goad the emotional suffering of others. Combined with their Discipline of Despond, which can flood a mind with potentially lethal despair, and these are vampires that even other vampires consider to be creepy-ass fuckers. Galloi: Nosferatu Bloodline. Not all Nosferatu are content with looking like something out of a B-movie. The Galloi tried to invent a way to cure their ugliness with rejuvenating baths in enchanted blood. Whilst this gave rise to their signature discipline of Taurobolium, it also cursed them with a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" way. A Galloi that shuns its rejuvenating baths turns into a grotesquerie that is blatantly obvious as a walking corpse, whilst bathing transforms them into an eerily beautiful androgyne so perfect-looking that they end up being just as creepy as a normal Nosferatu! Gulikan: Deva Bloodline. Descendants of a vampire who discovered how to use Vitae as the basis for crafting mystical perfumes, founding the Discipline of Ortam, but cursing his childer to become deeply obsessed with certain rarified scents. Kuufukuji: Mekhet Bloodline. Tracing their roots to somewhere in Asia (different nationalities argue as to which of them can claim the honor of being the first), the Kuufukuji all claim ultimate descent from The Nameless Master, a vampire who sought to use ritualistic trappings and asceticism to tame the Beast and control their hunger for blood. This gave rise to the Discipline of Shihai, which allows a vampire increasing control over both Beast and Man, in herself and others, but also curses them with a need to always resist the urge to feed to their fullest, as doing so strips them of their ability to wield their vampiric powers. Macellarius: Ventrue Bloodline. A depraved lineage of cannibalistic aristocrats, whose signature Discipline of Gustus allows them to draw power from consuming human flesh alongside human blood. Arrogant and half-mad, they cling to the trappings of high society and "fine breeding", believing that this compensates for their vulgar appetites and the way their warped physiques supernaturally bloat into balloons of blood-stuff flab. Melissidae: Ventrue Bloodline. Man was not meant to live as bees do. This seems obvious enough, but it was a lesson that one well-meaning woman in the late 18th century had to learn the hard way. Which inadvertently led to a whole new lesson: vampires styled after bees manage to be so fucking creepy that even other vampires go "Kill it with fucking fire!" Thus the Melissidae were born, and though the rest of the Requiem has repeatedly tried to stamp them out, these bug-controlling vampire queens continue to emerge and try to set up their "hives" of mind-wiped ghouls. Players: Mekhet Bloodline. A tongue-in-cheek poke at the fanbase of Vampire: The Masquerade, Players are Mekhets who wish they were Daeva (aka, the "cool, sexy vampires") so much they try to forcibly emulate the inherent abilities of that bloodline. Sometimes, it works. Othertimes, it backfires so hard that it just makes them look even more pathetic.
