===Combat Doctrine=== The Gemini Legion is almost completely adherent to the Codex Astartes, with a few small exceptions. For one, they believe in a perfect symmetry in everything, particularly wargear. Every squad will have weaponry and armor balanced in pairs, even going as far two making Marines choose to have twin Bolt Pistols or twin chainswords. The Chapter also hands down promotions based on a Marine's ability to unify with more and more brothers: A basic Tactical Marine is bonded to a single partner, whereas a Sergeant can link with three to five partners, a veteran with five to ten partners, and a Captain with multiple squads. Their Chapter Master, Ramiel Leiram, has the ability to synchronize with his whole Chapter, though at a great cost. This ability is granted to him by some latent psychic power, though tapping into this power causes him to suffer from psionic migraines that may one day surrender him to the Warp. The Gemini Legion reveres twin-linking as the pinnacle of technology, and makes as much use of twin-linked weaponry as possible. As a Chapter that favors charging straight into an enemy with no hesitation, they adore Steel Rain Drop Pod Assaults, and will use these when given the opportunity. This, combined with the difficulty of finding twins willing to become Space Marines, may be the reason the Chapter is losing strength by the year, and may be extinct by the end of the 41st Millennium. ====Chapter Special Rules==== *Synchronized Strike - The Gemini Legion prides itself in unity and the ability to work in tandem. Once per turn, any squad may halve the number of shots it makes with its weapons to give all shots the Twin-linked special rule (Each type of weapon fired is counted for separately). If the squad does not use this rule in the shooting phase, it may do so in the assault phase, halving their number of attacks made in close combat to re-roll to-hit rolls. (models with special wargear for close combat are halved for separately). *Balanced Assault - The Gemini Legion believes in symmetry above all else. As such, any model armed with a Bolt Pistol and close combat weapon MUST give up their Bolt Pistol for another close combat weapon or vice versa (Excluding Tactical Marine squads). Models that replace their Bolt Pistol or close combat weapon do not have to balance their weapons as such, but are encouraged to be paired with a model with the same wargear in opposite hands. *Unity by Example - Gemini Legion Sergeants are trusted with syncing with the Tactical Marine honored with a unique weapon. Gemini Legion Tactical Marine squads cannot take a heavy weapon as an upgrade. Instead, if the squad buys a special weapon upgrade (Flamer, Meltagun, or Plasma Gun), the Sergeant will take a second of that weapon at no cost.
