===Ghost Rider=== Johnny Blaze was a stuntman who made a deal with Mephisto to save his father from terminal cancer. However, his dad died in an accident during a stunt performance soon after. Johnny was bonded with the demon Zarathos, becoming the spirit of vengeance, the Ghost Rider. He could turn into a [[awesome|burning skeleton biker riding a fiery motorcycle and wielding chains of hellfire]]. Not counting a long line of Spirits of Vengeance throughout history and other characters temporarily gaining the powers once in a while, the mantle and powers have passed on the other characters as time went on, notably Danny Ketch, Alejandra Jones, and Robbie Reyes (though the last one isn't actually a spirit of vengeance, Robbie's bonded to a satanic serial killer instead). Notably among his powers is the Penance Stare. Upon eye contact, the target is made to feel all the pain and suffering they inflicted on others. It worked even if the target is insane, amnesiac, or has multiple personalities. If you think this sounds utterly broken, you'd be right (it beat ''Galactus'' in the old Fantastic Four cartoon), which is why it's been repeatedly nerfed as a result. Obviously it already won't work on the innocent, but now its limitations mean it will fail if the target has no soul, is blind, has more than one pair of eyes, is wearing a visor that obscures the eyes, wearing a symbiote, and after the effect was changed to self-mortification of the target from viewing all of their sins, they also needed to feel guilt or remorse for their actions (at least for Thanos, the Punisher, and Preacher, since it otherwise works on any other remorseless killer). <!-- August, 1972 -->
