== Other Important Characters== ==== Siegfried Kircheis ==== Reinhard's best buddy from childhood and second-hand man (At least in the first half of the series). Optimistic, idealistic, and a bit aloof, he's 100% loyal to Reinhard and isn't ashamed to admit that, creating a "Bromance" of sorts worthy of a Jojo character. Serving as the "morality pet" of the empire and keeping everyone else together with his gentle nature, he is nonetheless much smarter and talented than one might believe at first glance, thanks to a mix of skill and experience that leads to Reinhard always listening to his suggestions and taking them to heart - which pays off a vast majority of the time. ====Oskar von Reuenthal and Wolfgang Mittermyer==== Reinhard's twin swords. Inseparable friends since they met in a bar fight, Reinhard earned their loyalty after he helped save Mittermyer from assassins after he had the temerity to execute a noble soldier under military law for murdering a civilian. ==== Fritz Joseph Bittenfeld ==== Reinhard's very own Leman Russ. Commands the Black Lancer squadron, made entirely of Fast Battleships. When there's a battle, you usually find his ships in the enemy's face, or on their way there. Gets away with mistakes that would get any other admiral sacked, 'cuz he's always true to his nature. ==== Paul von Oberstein ==== Commander Kubrik Chenkov incarnated into a Fleet Admiral. Oberstein serves as the man who does "What Needs to be Done" for Reinhard, and boy, does he do that and beyond the necessary in his actions. From allowing a nuke that kills millions of people to explode in order to increase Reinhard's popularity, to being a ruthless chessmaster who will gladly manipulate events and people to eliminate and competition, even the possibility of one, he is essentially a pure utilitarian who cares not for morals but what will keep more people alive in the long run (And what will keep Reinhard into power, of course). Unsurprisingly, practically nobody in the Empire likes him, not helped by the fact his voice is an permanente monotone who never changes no matter the gravity of the situation, but they neverheless keep him around because lack of morals aside, he is a very cunning strategist who gets shit done, and in spite of his manipulation and That Guy overtones, he is loyal to the bone when it comes to Reinhard and the empire. ===== Anton Fellner ===== Oberstein's assistant. When the Imperial Civil War started, Fellner was like "This is dumb, we should just kill Reinhard instead of fight a war" but his superiors in the league refused. He tried anyway, failed, and surrendered. Reinhard decided Fellner's thinking was completely reasonable and recruited him on the spot. ==== Dusty Attemborough ==== The youngest admiral in Alliance history. Happens to be a fan of tactically withdrawing to draw the enemy into a trap. Commands the Triglav. ==== Walter von Schönkopf ==== As the Germanic name hints at, Schönkopf is the commander of the Rosenritter, an infantry platoon of Imperial defectors and their children. He's an unrepentant womanizer, and fights every battle as if to reaffirm his loyalty to the Alliance, because he is. In one early battle, he personally goes after his former Rosenritter commander, who defected back to the Empire. Which he does by boarding ship after ship, taking over their bridges, and singing challenges to the traitor over every single channel, annoying Reinhard to the point that he ordered the officer to go face him single combat. ==== Julian Mintz ==== Yang's adopted ward, Sub-Liutenant of The Alliance and the "face" of what it ideally should be alongside Yang. Fairly young which leads many to underestimate him, but just as skilled as Yang when it comes to being a leader and strategist by the end of the series. Just like Yang, he is your "to go" guy for the defense and meritis of democracy in the series, refusing to bow down to any autocratic leader no matter how "benevolent" he might be, and he damn sure demonstrates that as time goes on, fighting tooth and nail in spite of the incompetent leadership, and proving himself in battle multiple times with both the use of smart strategies and his skills when it comes to swinging an axe. This, plus his cooking abilities and polite attitude even towards his enemies makes him one of the brightest characters in a galaxy where so many nice people die in droves. (Just don't refuse to stand down against him, he might be Lawful Good but he sure as hell ain't Stupid Good) ==== Job Trunicht ==== The embodiment of virtually everything bad about representative democracy. Trunicht is the stereotype of the bought-and-paid for senator who will say anything, shake anyone's hand, and thinks lying is a praiseworthy skill. After the alliance falls he goes imperial sympathizer without breaking stride. As one of the last things he does, Reuenthal shoots him for trashtalking the Kaiser. ==== De Ville ==== If he doesn't scare you, no Evil thing will. Head of the Terraist church. The short summary of the Terraist church is they believe humanity has lost their way and should resume using Terra as the center of human civilization; despite the fact the Federation’s predecessors had nuked them into oblivion for being corrupted jerks a millennia ago. They infiltrated the Alliance and Empire leadership ever since to weaken both sides for a future coup. And they’re hellbent on getting their way. Fanatical cultists, deep infiltrators, drugged agents, false flag operations, blatant bribery, you name it and it’s a tactic that they’re more than willing to use. If you haven't figured out he's the closest thing the series has to a Big Bad, I suggest you try reading his name out loud.
