==IRL== The defeat of coalition forces in France and the battle/evacuation of Dunkirk dealt a serious blow to English morale and fighting capability, almost losing the entirety of their armored forces, and failing to establish a foothold on mainland Europe. Almost immediately, in June of 1940 that same year, a special service was formed that would strike back at Germany. Named after the Boer Commandos that fought the British during the Second Boer War, the Commando's mission statement was to stab the Germans in the fucking groin and commit raids, sabotage, and other clandestine operations in Nazi-controlled Europe. The training was hellish, with live fire and demanding physical exams, while still demanding that every single level of the military protocol was kept, including shining shoes and clean uniforms. What this created was a 25,000 strong force of highly disciplined and trained special operations soldiers that could do the damned near impossible. The late Sir Christopher Lee is alleged for having participated in Commando raids that are classified to this day. Commandos and the SAS were notorious for being able to turn just about anything into weapon of mass destruction, but they were granted specialist weapons that were rarely afforded to other branches of the British Military. * The Sten MKIIS and MKIV were supressor equipped Stens. They were perfect for the behind enemy lines operations, but had all the drawbacks of a normal Sten while also having problems managing heat on the suppressor. Canvas was added, but even then they were usually only shot in single shot or short bursts to prevent excess barrel damage. *The De Lisle Carbine was a .45 firing rifle that had a supressor. Each one was custom made, and they are rare weapons to find. They have earned a legendary reputation as being possibly one of the quietest firearms ever developed. *The Welrod Pistol was a suppressed bolt-action pistol used by British Special Forces. It was originally chambered for .32 ACP, but was changed to 9x19mm after poor field performance. The weapon was used for the next half of the century in British and allied service in odd spots like Berlin or the Falklands.
