==Appearance==
Roman was taller than an ordinary man, but he was short for a Primarch - only slightly taller than most of his Astartes.  If this bothered him, he rarely showed it.  The [[Sacred Band]]'s short-lived nickname for the newly discovered Primarch, "Short-sword", was quickly forgotten after he bested their champions, then Hektor Cincinnatus himself, in a series of somewhat friendly duels.  The Primarch's short-cut brown hair and grey eyes framed a plain face, but Roman's unglamorous appearance did not detract from his natural charisma.  He could inspire his men with but a look, and his scowl could rob a foe of courage.  His voice was hugely powerful and capable of carrying across the batlefield even without amplification.

The Primarch's chin bore a small scar, a memory of his fateful duel with the Emperor.  He did not like to talk about the wound but he was prone to rubbing at the scar when deep in thought.
