'''Character Origins:''' The first playtest document for the [[One D&D|upcoming 5.5/6E D&D]], this document shows how the various races and backgrounds are likely to be reworked. Races now provide no stat bonuses, but they do have various sub-race bonuses and include [[Orc]]s and Aardlings ([[Aasimar]] but different) as core options. Of course, the Humans remain far and away advantageous, gaining not only a bonus skill but also a bonus feat of your choice. Backgrounds are now what give you your stat boosts (Okay, try averting the idea that certain builds are genetic by saying your upbringing determines your build) as well as baking in a starting feat.
