The term "Devil Dog" comes from a nickname supposedly given to the US Marine Corps by the Krauts during World War One ("Teufel Hunden"). [[Derp|The fact that this is grammatically incorrect to the extent of being faux German (in German it'd actually be ''Teufelshund'') and a much more common equivalent in German would be their word for Hellhound (''Höllenhund'') casts much doubt on the veracity of the Yanks' claim, however]]. Meanwhile, Banewolf just sounds mean.
