stub Unlike the Ironkin, who are essentially just another type of citizen in the Leagues, COGs are the true automated workforce for the LoV. As expected from their superior Craftskinship, these COGs are superior to the Imperium's Servitors (Janky and ill thought out cybernetic frames that utilize butchered human bodies for processing power) and Tau Drones (More sophisticated and well-built drones with actual AI built in, but still less advanced due to the Tau's limited understanding of LoV tech and only being able to piece together parts of what they do know), these automated workhorses have been ripped straight from the STC databases and innovated upon for millennia. Some of them even have psychic components built in. ===Types of COGs=== ====CORV==== Clear CORVs are the COGs that are assigned to a Grimnyr as one-part defense turret and one-part psychic ward thanks to the specialized psychic tech inside it. While each is equipped with an Autoch Pattern Bolter, their more vital role is to absorb any psychic feedback their charge might encounter - even if this feedback would lead to the drone exploding. On the tabletop, the CORV acts as the Grimnyr's personal floating robobuddies as they let him ignore perils of the warp so long as one of them is still alive. Perils will destroy a CORV in the process though, so watch out and be wary of your very limited CORV resources given each Grimnyr only starts with two <s>meatshields</s> bodyguards. Other than that, their Bolters adds a nice supportive range fire which can pick off GEQs and MEQs that are attempting to ambush old Gandalf over there. Sidenote: CORV is almost certainly a reference to corvids, such as ravens. The Norse god Odin (who was also called Grimnir) was accompanied by two ravens called Huginn (Thought) and Muninn (Memory). Very clever GW, very clever... ====E-COG==== Clear E-COGs act as the tools to help the Brôkhyr Iron-masters repair the Leagues' vehicles and exo-armour. Each of them is armed with a sidearm (Autoch Pattern Bolt Pistol, Manipulator Arms, Plasma Torch), but their priorities are more centred around maintenance. On the tabletop, the Brôkhyr Iron-Master comes automatically supported with 3 E-COG helper bots armed with a variety of weapons of questionable usefulness. One gets a Plasma Torch, which is a S+4 AP-4 D2 blowtorch, another has a set of manipulator arms that hit for S:User AP0 D1, and 2 extra attacks, and the third one gets an Autoch-Pattern Bolt Pistol. The E-COG's main use, though, is to buff up your repair ability, so instead of repairing d3 lost wounds to an <league> Exo-Frame or <league> Vehicle, you can repair d3+1, as long as any E-COGs are still alive. To cap this off, your Iron-Master can buff a nearby <league> Core or <league> Vehicle within 9" with a +1 to hit with ranged attacks. What does all this run you for? 90 points, which would be excellent, except you have a very limited pool of repair targets and your Vehicles tend towards being a bit squishy in practice.
