Editing Elders

'''Elder''' is a social rank in [[Vampire: The Masquerade]], as well as a marker of age, influence, and ''power''.  Elders are several centuries old, with many having been alive during or even before the [[Dark Age]].  They are cunning as fsk, having lived through some of the craziest and ''interesting'' times ever, and can call upon an unbelievably vast amount of resources accumulated through their long lives.  

To a High Generation schlub Embraced during Modern Nights, Elders would seem OP, because they ''are'' by comparison; the potency of their Blood makes them almost impossible to beat in a straight fight.  If they can ''find'' them in the first place, as their web of influence is often subtle and far-reaching in Kindred society.

==Meta==

Elders are almost always part of the 6th and 7th Generation, and are by their very natures, really NPC patron or Boss-level material rather than something a PC can work towards.  Even a PC created for play in the Medieval era (which many of the Clan Iconics like '''Beckett''' are part of), would be hard-pressed to match the ''cheese'' that an Elder can bring to the table.

One cannot ''become'' an Elder power-wise, barring [[Diablerie]].

Of course, they are one-upped by the next step in the pecking order, the [[Methuselah]].
