Sebastion Rex was the Equerry to Hektor Cincinnatus, Primarch of the first Legion; the Heralds of Hektor.Sebastion led a Division of the large Legion; this Division was primarily defense-focused, often aiding Legions in the occupation of conquered planets and lending their great landships for use against opposing forces. ==Appearance== Even past the day of his disappearance into the Warp, Sebastion's face was known to no one; all those who had fought with him and lived through the Great Crusade were long past dead. He is never seen outside of his armor except when within the confines of his personal quarters; as such, he has rarely been seen to partake in food or drink. Shorter than most of his brothers at little over the height of a standard human, Sebastion was a man possessed of a glorious purpose that drove his every action. Uncommonly, his grey eyes could be seen through the occularium of his helmet, seeming to constantly be in a state of deep-thought or contemplative planning. ==Personality== ==The Unification Wars== >Normal Marine, original from Terra >Medusa specialist >Expeditionary fleet sent out to Tempestus >Warp failure >Seb's ship is sent hurtling through Warp >Ship arrives too close to Arelon Primaris >Ship is torn apart by graviton-surges >Drop Pods deploy before complete destruction >One crashes into ocean >One crashes into asteroid in atmosphere >One crashes into Underhive >Of the 20 surviving Marines, 5 are killed during the Cleansing of the Hive >Without any way to contact the fleet, the Marines take over the hive >Soon conquer world >Fix Drop Pod with parts scavenged from crash sites >Conquer system (3 planets) >Squad leader is dubbed Venerable King by people, Sebastion Rex in High Gothic >Original name is lost to history >Pretty much warlord by this point >Century passes >Inter-system communication is retro-fitted from archeotech found on local battle station, /Iurgium Umbra/ >Battle-station is rife with unknown alien; cleansed by way of fire >Reunited with fleet >Impressed by such works with small numbers, Hektor appoints leader to form Castra >Subtly takes Rex aside, tasks him with forming strong base for eventual empire >Ecstatic at this prospect, trains Castra in siege building and occupation ==The Great Crusade== As the Great Crusade progressed, Sebastian began carving out his own network of highly defended, incredibly fortified planets, and steadily expanded this burgeoning empire until he had a prosperous sector under his control. Benefiting from the regular patrols and heavy defenses, the sector economy became robust, constantly growing to keep up with the demand for construction materials, defensive weapons and space ships. He become close to Arelex of the War Scribes and Uriel of the Children of Armok; their Legions often co-operated, generating a closer sense of camaraderie amongst the troops. ==The Heresy== HUGE WIP As his empire grew and strengthened, Sebastion and the Gatekeepers' involvement in the crusades waned, so focused was he on solidifying his hold on his territories. By the time the Heresy began, it had been some time since Sebastion and his legion had done more than fortify and defend against xenos attacks. Highlights - Joins with Hektor initially - Sees him as a tool to expand his own empire - Tries to not kill his brethren too much, but is willing to when they won't see reason - Oh shit bro that Chaos shit ain't my bag - Nopes the fuck out - Takes loyalists with him - Pocket traitor sows misinformation amongst loyalists - Sebby forms Bulwark as "What the Imperium SHOULD be"ยฎ - Doesn't actually hate the Loyalists, but doesn't side with them, either (Some faction does, though) - Loyalists think Bulwark is sided with Hektor - Crucible ensues - Pocket traitor screws up defences - Bulwark loses Crucible - SQUAD BROKEN Possibles; - Seb fights Roman? - Seb fights Alex? - DKO? ==Post-Heresy== Following the aftermath of the Crucible, and the now finished Heresy, the shattered Bulwark fractured, splitting along faction lines; many formed myriad warbands, but hard-line loyalists remained and formed the Ramparts, a shadow of what once was.
