Technoarcheologist or Technoarchaeologist is a rank of Adeptus Mechanicus Artisans who are in charge of the extra heretical responsibility of R&D. Yes! What a twist! These guys actually innovate for a change rather than slamming their robo-penises into a toaster slit. Some call them constructors since they design machines, buildings, spacecraft, weapons, and military hardware. They often oversee activity on Forge Worlds and control vast labour forces of Servitors. The most famous of their number and the paragon to whom all Technoarcheologists aspire to is Arkhan Land, who discovered the blueprints for the Land Raider and Land Speeder. ==Overview== For the Technoarcheologist himself, they are seekers of divine mechanical arcana, and like most Cogboys, they are driven to uncover that which is hidden, and to analyse its capabilities. As their name indicates, they roam around to dig up lost and cool shit from the Dark Age of Technology and like to grab their metallic tentacles all over it, regardless of the consent from whoever is living on the planet. This basically ranks them third on the list of kleptomaniacs right after the Blood Ravens and Trazyn the Infinite. If you want to know who in the AdMech is responsible for the Quest of Knowledge, you can thank these guys. Hardened to life on the Imperium’s dangerous frontiers, these priests employ cogitative instincts to detect approaching foes and awaken their servitor guardians to effective modes of attack. Even in the midst of battle, Technoarcheologists guide their servants through vital procedures with a machine-like focus. Due to their rampant technophilia, kleptomania and being colossal brown nosers. The Leagues of Votann have put <u>ALL</u> of them on a watchlist, even by the already sus standards of the AdMech. Your 'basic' Technoarcheologist is armed with a Eradication Pistol, a disruptive omni-scrambler and a servo-arc claw affixed to their backpack. They seem to wear a form of stripped-down Dragon Scale Armour given the presence of a power armour backpack. ==Crunch== Crunchwise, they are the generic version of Daedalosus from the Blackstone Fortress game, acting as a support HQ to a Dominus or Manipulus. His weaponry is unique for an HQ but nothing special; he carries a Servo-Arc Claw and the pistol version of the Eradication Beamer. Instead, his real benefit comes from his special rules. He emits a 12" aura that shuts off enemy deep strikes. On top of this, he can pick a friendly <Forge World> Core or Servitors unit within 6" during the command phase, letting Kataphrons perform objective actions and allowing the chosen unit to perform objective actions as well as shoot. Mechanicus
