Now 0. |governor= |system=Chashekhah System |sector=Archangelus Sector |subsector=Resha Subsector |segmentum=Segmentum Obscurus }} Tiberia V is the home-world of [[Uriel Salazar]], Primarch and gene-sire of the [[The_Justicars|The Justicars]] Space Marine legion. ==The Planet itself== Tiberia V is the fifth of nine planets in the Chashekhah system. It is a temperate world, once filled with lush, dense forests and crystal-clear, blue oceans. The people of the planet adapted to overcome the local fauna, and thrived, devoid of serious predators. But without a consistent and dangerous external force to shape them, the Tiberian people became divided. Internal differences split the planet apart, with thousands of would-be nation-states emerging to compete for world dominance. After several decades of merciless total war, an unsteady peace was reached; three powerful factions united to defeat their larger rivals and absorb the smaller threats. The ''Tiberian Peoples Commune'', The ''Tolerance Covenant'', and the ''Authoritarian Populist Movement''. These nations were ideologically opposed to one another on such a fundamental level that though they shared some philosophies, conflict was inevitable. The resulting wars scarred the planet, but they did not relent. The Tolerance Covenant, the most diplomatic and neutral of the tripartite was betrayed by its erstwhile allies and crushed. No reconciliation would be forthcoming between the two remaining Communes and the Authoritarians, there could be only war, it was just a matter of when. ==Uriel and the Great Crusade== Uriel landed on the planet in this fragile peace. The people who took him in and raised him were typical for the majority of the people under the Communes: poor, jobless, and beholden to the government for food and welfare. They lived in sprawling shanty towns punctuated by blocks of 'mini-hives' that stood tall amid the ramshackle maze of sheet metal and rockcrete. The largest minority were the workers; specialists who oversaw the agri-machines and manufactorums that fed the people on behalf of the government. Many luxuries were available to these workers, though they rarely had the money to pay for them. Social pressure and greed perpetuated and exploited by merchant propaganda kept these workers from rebelling against the system who abused them. Finally, the elites who ruled their territories like monarchs; and lived like them too. Every desire was catered for, and every whim met. Many were yes men for the political elite and the merchants who funded them, but all lived lives so far removed from the people, that they may as well have been a different species. This was opposed by the Authoritatian Populist Movement, who sought to create a nation for the people by the people. But in the last official war on the planet, they too were crushed by the victorious Tiberian Communes. With victory assured, the Communes began to consolidate power, and root out any dissenting voices who might stand against them. These 'rebels' were a mix of various criminals, former citizens of rival nation-states, and disenfranchised citizens of the Communes. The Commune conducted a brutal counter-insurgency offensive against these rebels, but they lost too much support from the people, and were eventually decisively defeated. With the arrival of the Emperor, and Uriels reunification with his legion, Tiberia underwent great changes. The first change was for the people; Great fortress-cities were erected to house both the legion, and the masses who slept right alongside their Astartes benefactors. The planetary industry was improved and upgraded; its use still primarily to fuel the machines of war, but new improvements to planetary infrastructure and economy were implemented to finally give the people independence and purpose through employment. Initiatives to preserve and reclaim some of planets former beauty were started, and after meeting popular support, were backed by the legionary resources pouring into the planet. The planets rebuilding was finally completed several years after the Emperors arrival. The plethora of changes made by the legion stemmed many, though not all, of the problems of the Tiberian people. But through common purpose and humility, the Tiberian people would support the Imperium with great pride throughout the Great Crusade. ==The Heresy== As a legion homeworld, the loyalties of the Tiberian peoples were unquestioningly with their benign overlords. Though there was some pause at the prospect of turning from the Imperium, it was the Astartes of the Justicars who had rebuilt Tiberia and tirelessly improved the lives of the people. Many Tiberians joined unofficial regiments, little better than militia, to fight beside their champions. The majority however, joined together to increase the planets industrial and manufacturing output, throwing everything they had into fires of the Traitor war machine. ==Post-Heresy== After the failure of the Traitors at Terra, the newly bolstered forces of the Imperium went on the offensive. With speed and righteous aggression they crushed those who had actively supported the traitors, and the ultimate punishment was exacted upon any who were bold enough to resist. The people of Tiberia heard that the traitors had lost, and many people fled the planet, predicting what was coming. Those who remained however, were unequivocal in their defiance; they knew their support of the traitors, and their place as a legionary homeworld, would earn them a punishment most severe. The Tiberian people set about fortifying their planet for the coming battle. But it was all for naught. The Imperial forces who came to exact revenge on the traitors has no intention of engaging the Tiberians; a quick battle for dominance of the void above the planet was the only fighting recorded, before an extensive virus bombing campaign began. By the time the Imperials left the Chashekhah system, Tiberia V was naught more but dust and ash. In M32 the Adeptus Mechanicus would claim the world to be used for storage, building several vaults in the ash wastes, but all colonisation was forbidden.
