stub Yig is one of the Great Old Ones created by H.P. Lovecraft, and in many ways is the least Mythosian deity that Lovecraft ever created. See, Yig's big deal is that he is the Lord of Serpents. And that's basically it. He appears as either a giant snake, a giant snake with arms, or a giant serpentfolk. He is the patron god of the serpentfolk, and his concerns largely revolve around protecting and promoting the health of serpents all over the world. Don't mess with his snakes, and he'll generally leave you alone. ==Pathfinder== Despite being "the Father of Serpents", Pathfinder's Yig is rarely worshipped by serpentfolk. <gallery> yig SA1.png|Humina-humina-humina- </gallery> Pathfinder-Demigods clear ==Arcanis== On Arcanis, Yig is the goddess of the scalykind races, worshiped as the consort of their divine patriarch, Kassegore. Schemer and master of falsehoods, she also presides over life and fertility, and is renowned for her lusts. Worship of Yig promises personal power, material gain, extended life, and everlasting fertility. Her clergyconsists solely of females, with males feeling the urge to serve spiritually serving as templars and holy champions. Yigite priestesses tend to have an elitist attitude, seeing themselves as mentally superior to all but the most learned mages and scholars. Vain and conceited, they express the worst traits of their cold-hearted deity, enjoying the heat of the moment and deriving pleasure from watching their enemies fall into well laid traps. Nothing excites a Yigite priestess more than watching her newest plot come to fruition. Whilst worship of Yig has been banned alongside her consort Kassegore and their son Jeggal Sag, Yig's worship has survived underground better, thanks in part to it being traditionally favored by the ssanu, who are still the second-highest race in the empire even after the varn-worshipping naga took control. Ssanu and yissera devoted to Yig have helped found the Abessian Dominion as the nexus of an insurrection against the varn cults. Yig appears as an insubstantial serpent wrapped in shadows or as a tiny gold-scaled viper, though it is said She does possess a humanoid appearance. It is commonly believed that the yissera were created idolizing this form. Arcanis deities don't have Cleric Domains like other gods of 5 e do, but are instead divided into specific faith-groups called "Aspects". Yig has two Aspects thus far, both found in the Codex Geographica II; Yig of the Shifting Scales is the Aspect worshipped exclusively by the ssanu, whilst Yig, Mistress of Deception is the Aspect worshipped by the Yissera.
