Galrauch, First of the Chaos Dragons, is a special character for Chaos in Warhammer Fantasy, and he was the only new character to debut in Hordes of Chaos. Originally a Gold Drake who fought on the side of the High Elves during the time of Aenarion, Galrauch's doom came in the same legendary battle in which Aenarion and his own draconic steed battled four Greater Daemons, one from each of the Dark Gods. Galrauch slew a powerful Lord of Change - originally, this was to avenge the death of his own High Elf partner Learfin, but this lore was dropped from the subsequent Warriors of Chaos splatbook - only to find himself possessed by the Greater Daemon. This permanently warped him into a mutant monstrosity with two heads - however, even the Lord of Change couldn't extinguish Galrauch's spirit entirely, and although he has committed many atrocities, the vengeful dragon's spirit still yearns for a chance to even the score.

Mechanically, Galrauch is generally portrayed as a Chaos Dragon with a second, super-nasty Breath Weapon and the spellcasting abilities of a Lord of Change. The downside is that he needs to take a Leadership test at the start of each Chaos turn; if he fails, he may at best spend half of his attacks on himself, and at worst may actually begin attacking the rest of the players' army.
