A homebrew setting for Humanity Fuck Yeah.

The backstory is that humanity ventures out into space, and for light-years around, finds nothing but the ruins of past civilizations -- what's more, they all seem to have destroyed themselves in war (as opposed to being wiped out by a disaster). When they finally do come into contact with living aliens, nobody is willing to talk to them, but with intercepted communications, they piece together the truth: any intelligent creature that enters the sector is inevitably driven to violence and insanity, as if a sort of "veil of madness" hangs over it.

Humanity decided to play to the image to protect their homeworlds, crafting suits of powered armor and spaceships that look scary, and while they never took lives if they could avoid it, they made sure to leave an impression on everyone they encountered.

Stories from this setting include the accounts of "T. Rollfaec" and "Dr. Ulor Tilol" as they explore the other galactic civilizations with less-scary disguises.
