This is made even more egregiously stupid when you consider the actual canon - even the Ultrasmurfs technically exceed the so-called '1000' Battle Brothers limit through: having 36 honor guards, their Tyrannic War Veterans, their Chaplains, Librarians, Captains, command squads, and their totally-codex-abiding honor company they have.

And we're not even counting the shenanigans the Dark Angels get up to with their "totally not a legion!" organization.

''Joe(its not his real name, but its easier to remember) was born from man's desire to surprise, and to be scared. He was very intelligent, and he loved to screw with people's heads,to make them serve tzeentch. He wears a blue, and gold robe, has such a demeanor that some say he should have been a daemon of nurgle, because of his love of children. His reply to this is " children love magic, and pranks, plus tzeentch could use some new warriors"''
Though to be fair the wiki sometimes does make exceptions...

And;
"Psykers in this setting are an integral part of the lore. Having Psykers among your species is quite fine, and is in fact expected. It may even be fine to make your race entirely Psychic. However there are a few guidelines to follow. Your Xenos species may not be as strong, or skillful in Psychic arts as the Eldar. Since the Eldar are a strong Psychic race, and in fact the most gifted faction in this regard they are beyond the abilities of other species in this regard."

''He changed his voice to that of khorne, and convinced them to hug their enemies to death, than sat back and watched, as they kept trying to squeeze eachother to death,''

More to come.
It must also be noted that the Fanon Wiki has specific pages marked as "humour" - this implies that the rest are supposed to be taken seriously. Which is most humourous of all.

This article is about something that is considered by the overpowering majority of /tg/ to be fail.
Expect huge amounts of derp and rage, punctuated by /tg/ extracting humor from it.

This place will give you cancer.

The Heresy[edit]

The Warhammer 40,000 Fanon Wiki is, as the name suggests, a wiki devoted entirely to fan-based works regarding 40k. At first glance, such a thing resembles an amusing little diversion.

On a closer glance, it reveals a den of insanity, excess, and disease. Rage at their policies!

While not all articles are entirely made of fail, many are, and in such a manner as to be hilarious to the extreme. As well, the userbase seems to be comprised mainly of 16-year-old boys with delusions of grandeur (a few claiming to have "psychic powers".). At least two admins dating back from the old days have admitted to only being around to troll the newer users, who are almost exclusively thin-skinned narcissists and egoboos.

At one point, long ago, the wiki wasn't so bad, but now it is a hive of scum and villainy. The amount of Mary Sue space marine chapters is ridiculous, lacking any form of readability. Just look at the Blaze Ravens (finally deleted, praise the fucking Emperor!), fluff-raping so bad, we made the Blaz Ravens chapter just to mock it.

Their front page claims "... here you can expand on the canon without contradicting it." Yeah... Actually, possibly as a knee-jerk reaction to all the fluff-rape, the have turned into utter control freaks that hate the idea of Your Dudes and Forging a Narrative. Seriously, just read their rules. Writing something that does not conform to their incredibly narrow and often inaccurate idea of what is canon will get you banned. Anything that doesn't happen in canon on daily basis is basically out of the question.

Here are some examples from the website of what may not be included, although they are by no means the only ones:

"It must be noted though, that Space Marine chapters may in the most desperate moments make a pact with xenos, to fight against greater foe. No Space Marine will ever make a pact with any other faction, than Craftworld Eldar and Tau Empire"

Oh really?

"There will also be no "loyalist traitors" (characters that were part of Traitor Legions and stayed loyal to the Emperor) who survive the Great Scouring. Also otherway around, there shall be no "traitor loyalists" (characters that were part of Loyalist Legions and turned to chaos) who survived the Great Scouring, except later Foundings' renegade chapters."

GeeDubs itself would disagree there...

"Codex Astartes dictates that all chapters have battle strength of 1000 battle brothers. There will be no fanon chapters, whose size exceeds 1000 battle brothers"

Yeah, like the codex gets absolutely followed in canon...

Several writefags might also point out that there are several chapters such as the Space Wolves, Black Templars, Crimson Fists (When they aren't getting the gak beaten out of them, as they have a first company that exceeds the 1st company structure), Exorcists (have 2 scout companies), Blood Angels and their successors (Death Company), any crusading chapter (Which can exceed the normal 1k limit as the Black Templars do), and the totally traitorous Astral Claws have all exceeded the 1000 Battle Brother limit at sometime or another. And we're not even counting the shenanigans the Dark Angels get up to with their "totally not a legion!" organization.

But of course, allowing people to make stronger-than-average chapters would risk them having some fun, and we can't have that on our canon-friendly (HA!) wiki.

Though to be fair the wiki sometimes does make exceptions...

It must also be noted that the Fanon Wiki has specific pages marked as "humour" - this implies that the rest are supposed to be taken seriously. Which is most humourous of all.
