Dorf Quest takes place every Saturday at 10pm, Central time. Gnome has said he'll also run it on Thursdays if he isn't too busy, but this hasn't happened yet.

There were multiple playable characters involved. Players would write what they'd want the current playable character to do, and the Quest Master would choose an appropriate action. However, each playable character had a character sheet describing his/her strengths and weaknesses, which would determine the outcome of certain actions. The Quest Master also seemed to keep track of '''Mutations''', which were physical enhancements or disabilities. There was also an inventory system in use.

Beardbeard is a [[Dorf]] and, for the most part, the main character of the game. He set out to make a name for himself and earn some cash. Despite his violent nature (he's Chaotic Evil) Beardbeard seems to value his friends and allies and tries to help them when possible (like bringing Garrelf back to life after he took out his liver).

Amongst his achievements are:

*Slicing an elf's head with a door
*Killing a hydra and making a helmet and armor out of it's hide
*Having a drinking contest with Satan
*Getting Satan's arm as a replacement for the one lost in the battle with the hydra (And earning himself the name Demonarm)
*Destroying the temple of Glittergold and receiving a blessing from Xom in the form of Kay-oss Beer
*Drinking previously mentioned beer and mutanting into what he is now
*Killing the Fey god Glittergold and handing over his divinity to Satan (Earning the name Godslayer)

A manly [[elf]] who got recruited into Beardbeard's party and has so far proven to a trustworthy ally. During a drinking contest between Beardbeard, Satan, and himself, he lost his liver (and his life) when Beardbeard ripped it out so he could replace Satan's. Later on he got resurrected and transformed into a Shadar-Kai. Also he became king of the elves (despite not being an elf anymore) after having sex with the elven queen. His alignment was shown to be Neutral Evil when he murdered a halfling assassin (Nevada) who was sent to take out Beardbeard, while her friend was watching. Also very likely to be the most evil, depraved, and awesome torture expert ever.

Aldwin is the second protagonist in the game with his adventures going along side with Beardbeard's. He is a [[rogue]]/[[cleric]] of Nemelex and has taken the Cardsharp prestige class.

Aldwin started out as a very incompetent rogue who pretty much sucked at anything he did. However with training under the guidance of his sidekick Lily he has become more skilled at sneaking, tumbling and generally being a good thief. During a fight with an old acquaintance of his, Finley, it was revealed that Aldwin was also a cleric of Nemelex and is able to use the Deck of Summoning granted by his god. When he decided it was about time he got a cool looking hat for himself he went back to his hometown, only to find the haberdasher's shop being engulfed by Beardbeard's satanic arm which had gone berserk and destroyed the nearby temple of Glittergold. Deciding to go into the library he met with Cultist, and with her help managed to identify the runic saber he had previously stolen and found himself a romantic interest. Now he is being trained by Lily's ex-mother, Goldmoon.

A small girl, [[neckbeard]] in training and Aldwin's sidekick. She helps Aldwin stop sucking at his chosen profession and helps him in his training. Even though she is useless by herself, her extreme genre savvy helps her when dealing with Aldwin and trying to point him in the right direction. Also, she is the only character in Dorf Quest who communicates directly with the [[/tg/|fa/tg/uys]], even being considered an embodiment of /tg/ itself in the game world. Also she's pink and tiny. Really tiny. Really really fucking tiny.

She had to fight off Finlay by herself, and barely succeeded. And by that I mean she got her ass kicked, but didn't die. She has been reunited with her ex-mother, Goldmoon, but due to safety reasons cannot stay with her.
 
===Cultist of Xom===
An orc cultist of Xom that started as just a throw-away NPC, but ended up being a member of Beardbeard's party. A pious follower of Xom, she helped Beardbeard by bringing Garrelf back, restoring Beardbeard's arm after his Satan arm went awry, and giving him the barrel of Kay-oss beer that mutated him (As a reward for getting 10 people to join Xom). She appears to be a shy and kind person, always trying to help out as much as she can, despite her not exactly beautiful looks and weird speech. While doing some research in the library before the party ccould head out, she met Aldwin. It appears she has fallen for him as much as he has for her. Despite his efforts to make her come with him and leave Beardbeard's party, she instead made him join the dorf. She is a very obvious reference to Cultist-chan. Also, it seems she has somehow gotten pregnant: Aldwin is the most likely father, but who knows, there might be unexpected plot twists.

An assassin who was an old acquaintance of Aldwin's. However, he has definitely lost Aldwin's trust, and deserves to DIAF. He is significantly stronger than Aldwin is, however, making killing him difficult at best.
 
===Nevada===
[[Halfling]] assassin from Goldmoon's guild, sent to kill Beardbeard. All she managed to do, however, is get slash the back of his neck and taking out his good eye. That resulted in a showdown between her and Garrelf from which she ended up with a skull busted wide open. Beardbeard has decided to help resurrect her, probably from sympathy for her friend/lover Mado.
