Lebendtod

Lebendtod are a special form of undead from Ravenloft that look and act just like living people. They are basically undead sleeper agents under the control of a necromancer. They can turn other people into lebendtod by breathing into their mouth and then letting them sleep for three days (If the victim is awoken before the three days are up, they rise as a Ghast instead). In this way, entire villages can be replaced with lebendtod. Their bodies age ten times slower than normal. Oh, they can also detach and rearrange their body parts at will.

Lebendtod were created by the darklord Meredoth, and debuted in the module Ship of Horrors.
