Neverwinter Nights seems to go out of it's way to show us half-orcs who subvert the big dumb somewhat savage brute stereotype by actually being rather intelligent and/or honorable.  In fact, I have yet to meet a half-orc who was actually dumb in Neverwinter Nights.

They are fuel for angst since neither Humans (who think they're ugly, dumb, and savage) or Orcs (who think they're impure pussies since they don't get +4 strength) so no one likes them.  Even faggoty Elves (who don't like orcs and thus don't like half-orcs) or manly dwarves, or faggoty gnomes (who don't like orcs even more) won't trust them.  Hell, even Mind flayers dislike them because typically their low mental scores means that their brains taste like shit to them and since they don't get +4 strength like full orcs they are not good for dumb muscle, besides; Mind Flayers already have Umber Hulks for that.

A half-Orc is exactly what it says on the tin - an unholy fusion of man and Orc, hopefully brought about by an male orc raping a female (thus resulting in a half-orc human) rather than a male human having sex with a female orc (female orcs are very ugly and unfappable, in addition this would result in a half-human orc rather than a half-orc human). Typically they get small (+2) bonuses to physical stats (STR in 3.5e) and a small (-2) penalty to mental stats (INT and CHA in 3.5e) and tend to lean towards evil and chaos.

Basically, if you want to play a big, dumb, "I hit it with my axe" pure combat class, half-Orc is the race for you. Though in 4e, they make pretty good monks.

Neverwinter Nights seems to go out of it's way to show us half-orcs who subvert the big dumb somewhat savage brute stereotype by actually being rather intelligent and/or honorable. In fact, I have yet to meet a half-orc who was actually dumb in Neverwinter Nights. Furthermore, Daelan Red-Tiger is the most badass Half-Orc ever. Due to being voiced by Steve Blum.
