The BMDs were a series of Soviet Airborne IFVs, something which to this day is a relatively unique concept. As such, they don't really have a counterpart in the armies of NATO.
In Team Yankee
BMD-1
The airborne version of the BMP-1. It carries the same turret with the same 73mm low recoil cannon and the same Malyutka ATGM. This will give it 2 HEAT, fp 3+ weapons with AT 12 and AT 19 respectively. In fact, the main difference (other than potentially a bit more speed on the BMD, and ) is that the BMD will probably have next to no armor and likely only 1 passenger. Finally, the BMD should have different training values, but we'll see.
BMD-2
The airborne version of the BMP-2. Has the same 2A42 30mm autocannon and Konkurs missile on a modified BMD-1 turret, so once again, just expect it to be a (potentially faster) lighter armored version of the BMP-2 with a lower transport capacity. The more interesting changes are going to be to the unit sizes and training.
