Background
When Watches-The-Fall was a girl, she was fascinated with learning everything she could. Nevermind boys, nevermind getting drunk at the Harvest Festival, she would always find some wayy to go off and examine something new, or reread one of the local village's few books. Even when she was dragged into the town's celebrations or the mundane work of crafting or gathering food, she only took part halfheartedly. "We live in such a fantastic world", she thought to herself, "Why should I do such boring things?". While the elders of her town debated on what to do with her, however, this came to bite her. She had found a new book, one with a cover made of some shifting metal, and tried to read it aloud. A dark power came from the book, and she struggled within her own mind, but her mouth would not stop speaking the words of beckoning! Fair Folk from the bordermarches nearby flew to answer the call, and she stood in response, armed only with a poorly-crafted dagger and her knowledge. It was not nearly enough to hold back the goblins that ransacked her town, even knowing what they were and how they would attack, but she refused to give in to them, fighting every step of the way beyond what a mortal body should be able to take.
Luckily, another force worked for her that day, a man that she felt an instinctive bond with. He dressed himself in the garments of death, claiming no name on that day but saying that he would help her again. Moments after he fled from view, she was taken in by the Silver Pact and told of her new nature as a Lunar. She carried the secret of why the goblins attacked her town as her personal shame, and threw herself into their training, never giving herself a moment's celebration in their sight. She was startled, however, when on her way through the Wyld after being made to fight against Fey, the dark man appeared again. He told her then that he and she were bound in their soul, and that he would defy even his dark masters for her, giving his name as Chases The Dark Grace and offering her a set of soulsteel armlets and anklebands to protect her no matter what the future may bring. From that day, she learned as much from him as she did from her Lunar friends and teachers.
Appearance
Watches is a very thin woman, to the point that many other Lunars consider her skin-and-bones. She dresses skimpily, her outfits designed by her friends to use as little fabric as possible. She has a pale complexion, and freckles dot her cheeks, their red matching the fiery color of her hair. Outside of the nessecary Lunar gatherings (and her clandestine meetings with her Abyssal friend) she is very rarely seen without a book of some kind, though she always listens to what's being said to her even as she reads.

Charms
KNACKS
- Deadly Beastman Transformation
DEXTERITY
- First Dexterity Excellency:
- Golden Tiger Stance
From the Lunar’s flawless position, nothing can hinder his defenses. This Charm is used in response to an attack.
The Charm eliminates up to (Dexterity) points of penalties that apply to the character’s Dodge and Parry Defense Values. When activated with Relentless Lunar Fury, Golden Tiger Stance automatically eliminates up to (Dexterity ÷ 2) points of penalties to Dodge and Parry Defense Values at all times. This does not stack with invoked instances of Golden Tiger Stance.
- Wary Swallow Method
Wise Lunar Exalted are always prepared for an attack, sensing the reactions of animals, plants and sheer Essence around them to the offense. This Charm removes the unexpected quality from a single attack, allowing the character to use her appropriate Defense Values and defensive Charms against it. Attacks that are unblockable or undodgeable remain so.
Perception
- Second Perception Excellency
- Eye of the Cat
Stewards can see the impossible. The character automatically notices anything within eyeshot, earshot or scent range that is not currently a valid target for a Perception roll based on one of those senses. If it denies the Lunar’s player any roll whatsoever to notice or detect something, the Lunar sees it perfectly. This includes immaterial beings such as gods and demons. It also covers targets so perfectly invisible, scentless or silent that there is no chance for a Perception roll. Against targets that the character could notice, even if the possibility is slight, this Charm provides no benefit. Add the Lunar’s (Essence) in automatic successes when another Charm contests this effect.
Activating this Charm in conjunction with Relentless Lunar Fury provides its benefits for the duration.
Intelligence
- First Intelligence Excellency
- Counting the Elephant's Wrinkles
Stewards have excellent memories for the past. This Charm allows the character to recall anything he has learned or observed with perfect clarity. Using the Charm calls for a (Intelligence + Lore) roll, although another Ability might be appropriate for certain subject matters. Even a single success calls back the memory in question in flawless and true detail. When the Charm is used to remember something originally conveyed with Instinct Memory Insertion (see pp. 166-167), success is automatic.
- Terrestrial Circle Sorcery
Sorcery
- Spirit Sword (cost 20m)
- Paralyzing Contradiction (cost 15m)
The sorcerer suffuses one of the Ineffable Koans with magical power, forcing the minds of sentient
beings to do nothing else but ponder an impossible riddle. Speaking the koan, the sorcerer releases white Essence. This power forms over the sorcerer’s head a sigil that represents the mystery of the koan. The spell affects all sentient creatures within 50 yards (except automata) who see the sigil or hear the caster’s words, and have an Intelligence greater than 1. (Stupid people don’t realize there’s a puzzle.)
Solving this koan requires an extended (Intelligence + Lore) roll with a difficulty equal to the
sorcerer’s Essence and total successes required equal to the sorcerer’s Lore. Characters cannot flurry this miscellaneous action. Each creature must find an answer within himself: Anyone else’s solution sounds absurd. A character who struggles to solve the koan still gains the benefits of his DV (with penalties for actions used trying to solve the koan, as appropriate), but is not further penalized.
If a person is attacked while struggling to unriddle the koan, he is freed from the spell. Paralyzing Contradiction otherwise ends when it is countered, when the sorcerer dies, when all targets solve the koan or when the scene ends. When the spell ends, the sigil above the sorcerer’s head snuffs out.

Limit Break (Curse of the Angry Mockingbird): When the ignorance of those around her gets to be too much, Watches-The-Falls snaps at those around her, finding nothing they do good enough. She will mercilessly attack any ideas presented to her, pointing out every way they either could or have failed.
