Weak and wounded, he feared the other would have its meal; but his actions had not gone unnoticed. The Unconquered Sun smiled upon Hunter and rewarded him for his bravery. In a bright flash he exalted, easily killing the blinded shark. He swam with new found strength, guided by visions to an uncharted island. Underwater was the entrance to an ancient tomb; the tomb of his previous life in the first age. That incarnation had come there long ago, hiding weapons for use in a future battle while simultaneous preparing for hopeless battle in the present. Hidden inside were relics of the first age. Meditating on this new found power, Hunter decided to forsake the greed and thievery that had been his life. Glimpses of an age when justice and honor ruled the waves revealed themselves, and he knew that age could come again. So he ventured out, applying order with brutal force and precision. Mercenary work funded his efforts and worked in concert at times, and his legend grew. Indomitable and powerful like the ocean's waves, pirates began calling him 'Wavekiller' in hushed voices.
