As mentioned above, the RM-70 is a Czechoslovakian design, meant to be better adapted to their specific needs. The Czechoslovaks, being pretty much first in line if the war got hot, tended to favor putting armor on their vehicles in an effort to hold the line until their Russian pals would arrive. Accordingly, the main difference between the RM-70 and the Russian "Grad" is that it is a bigger truck, the cab is armoured and it has a roof-mounted MMG which allows the vehicle's crew to defend themselves from enemy infantry that get too close. They have however the exact same rocket launcher and use the same ammunition. | |||

A contemporary of the BM-21, the RM-70 is a Czechoslovakian MLRS with bullet-resistant armoured plating.
In Team Yankee
Similar to the BM-21 Hail this is an anti-infantry artillery unit that has a chance to splash thin-skinned vehicles like Humvees and LAVs, maybe M113s and Leopard 1s if you are lucky. Toting a salvo template, this unit has a specific utility role: pinning multiple platoons of infantry, with a chance of killing troops. If you need to destroy armour, look elsewhere.
As utility artillery, the RM-70 can pin multiple infantry units per barrage, and get a few kills with its 4+ firepower. The Czechs possess 4+ skill, and spotters can call for fire on a 3+. It may not be the best MLRS variant, but it is still a very powerful unit for the Czechs.
While slightly armoured and effectively immune to 7.62mm weapons (AT2 or less), this is still an artillery piece with top armour 0. Do not drive it forward into the enemy or expose it to enemy artillery spotters.
Remember: rocket artillery is taken for the SUPPRESSION of infantry. Do not count on it to kill entrenched infantry (that's what brutal guns and assaults are for), even though some will undoubtedly fail their saves, eventually.
A Battery of three RM-70s cost you 5 points, while six RM-70s will cost you 10 points.
