Basics

Name: Iron Silk Sky
Player: Shyft
Campaign: Forged In Fire
Concept: Martial Artist/Performer
Caste/Aspect:Zenith Solar
Motivation: Was set on a mission by The Unconquered Sun to find out why the Solars fell back in the First Age.
Positive Intimacies: Martial Arts, her parents, dancing, her mentor
Negative Intimacies:
Experience: 0/0
(write experience points as "unspent / total" plx) Anima Banner:

Much to her chagrin, Iron Silk Sky's anima banner is a ground-level dance stage made of glowing gold and red Essence. Further, a pole that no matter what she's doing, seems to be the center of her actions so it looks like she's pole dancing whenever her Anima is up.

Background

Iron Silk Sky is a young woman, who has a talent for performance and entertainment. She has equal talent in the Martial Arts. She also has something of a perfectionist streak. She sets out goals and proceeds to master them to the best of her ability before moving on to another.

The Unconquered Sun came to her in a vision, upon her exaltation. It told her in no uncertain terms what her mission was.

"Something happened to make my Chosen fall as hard as they did. I want to know why."

Sky is, not was, a performer, an entertainer. Not even the Unconquered Sun could make her give up one of the things she loves to do. Prior to her Exaltation, she was preparing to move beyond her home city and into Chiaroscuro. However, plans... Changed. Since then, she's been working on her given mission while enjoying her life as a performer. While she wanders, she seeks out those who know things, skills she may want or need.

Beyond her love of performance, she loves martial arts, and the skills are handy these days are very useful. Her instructor is an... Interesting sort of person.

First Age

Sky has almost no idea what her first age incarnation was like.

Lunar Mate

What the First Age incarnation this Exalt was like is unknown, but the current incarnation is quite simply a very large, wizened grandfatherly man. He could easily be mistaken for a wise old monk or a noble barbarian elder of the far east. He's decades older than Sky, and looks the part.

He is content to be what Luna intended him to be, a steward and confidant. If he and Sky ever meet, their relationship would likely be that of granddaughter and kindly grandfather.

  • Mentor: Cheerful Crimson Star, Unemployed Celestial Goddess and martial artist

To put it politely, this goddess is... Colorful.

To put it bluntly, Cheerful Crimson Star is the most flighty, hedonistic, intemperate and utterly shameless nymphomaniac slut Sky has ever met. Not the total opposite of Sky, however. After all, they're both women. She's a former employee of the Cerulean Lute, and was exiled to Creation for an alleged scandal involving no less than three Sidereal Trainees. (Though Sky doesn't know that they were Sidereals, or even what a Sidereal is.) The closest Star has ever come to even alluding to the concept was in oblique reference to martial arts that are beyond even the most powerful of Celestial styles.

Unashamedly lesbian, and takes every opportunity to proposition Sky, who is quite frankly not interested. Star is a master of several terrestrial styles, including Ill Lily and Even Blade, but favors Orgiastic Fugitive Style most of all. The only Celestial Martial Art she knows is a variant of Dreaming Pearl Courtesan Style, which she's teaching to Iron Silk Sky.

The Exalt refuses to settle for anything less than perfection in something she considers herself excellent at. She will attempt a task over and over again, regardless of how wise it is to peruse that course of action until she has accomplished it. Nothing short of ultimate success is good enough.

Partial Control:
The Exalt may chose to stop trying and move on to other things, but suffers an internal penalty of -2 on all actions for one day, being distracted and frustrated about her earlier failure.

Charms

Martial Arts

  • Martial Arts Second Martial Arts Excellency(Martial Arts 1, Essence 1, pg): 2m per success. Reflexive (step 1 for attacker, Step 2 for Defender), Combo-OK, Instant.
  • For every 2 motes spent on this charm, the character adds one success to the relevant roll. You cannot spend more than Attribute+Ability on this charm.

(Revised)Dreaming Pearl Courtesan Style

  • DPCS (Revised)Demure Carp Feint(Martial Arts 2, Essence 1): 4m, Reflexive, Combo-OK, Social, One Action.
  • The Exalt is a picture of demure repose and courtly grace. A coy look shielded by a fluttering fan, or a smile hidden behind a sleeve. When using this charm, the Exalt distracts or confuses their opponents with a fan, a prop, or even just a simple wave of the hand. In Combat, this charm adds +2 or [Essence] to the character's DVs. In Social Combat, any attacker suffers a -2 external penalty for being unable to see past the subtle distraction.

  • DPCS (Revised)Lethal Paper Fan Attack(Martial Arts 3, Essence 1) 3m, Supplemental, Obvious, Combo-OK, Instant.
  • Paper and silk become deadly weapons in the hands of a Dreaming Pearlescent Courtesan master. Innocuous props, or even their own clothing can become instruments of battle. When this charm is active, all sashes, sleeves and long hems are treated as seven-section staves, and all paper fans or similar hand-held props are treated as wind-fire wheels. This Charm replace the stats for an unarmed attack with either wind-fire wheels, or a seven-section staff. Alternatively, this charm can enhance an actual weapon. This is still considered an unarmed strike for the purposes of other Martial Arts Charms. All improved attacks deal Lethal damage. Further, you may add [Essence] to one of either Damage, Accuracy or Defense, or reduce the weapon's Speed by [Essence], but to no lower than 3. If this charm is being applied to actual weapons, you may not enhance the damage, but may wield it with far greater accuracy, speed or defense.

Integrity

  • Integrity: Integrity-Protecting Prana (Integrity 1, Ess 1, pg 199): 5m, 1wp, Reflexive(Step 2), Combo-OK, One Day.
  • This charm protects the character from any Shaping effect that directly alters her mind, body, spirit or traits. This includes instantaneous Shaping Effects and any new alterations caused by long-term Shaping Effects. It also protects against any undodgeable, unblockable Shaping Attacks.

Athletics

  • Athletics Graceful Crane Stance (Athletics 1, Ess 2, Pg 222): 3m, Reflexive, Combo-OK, Instant, One Scene.
  • This charm lets the character automatically succeed on any attempt to keep their balance. In addition, it lets them to keep their footing on a surface as strong and wide as a human hair. The Exalt treats the given surface as a three foot wide ledge capable of supporting a thousand pounds of weight when determining what movement and athletic actions can be taken.
  • Athletics Feather-Foot Style (Athletics 4, Ess 2, Pg 225): 4m, Reflexive, Combo-OK, Instant, One Scene.
  • This charm lets the character run or walk on unstable surfaces (using the move and dash actions, as if she weighed no more than a feather. This makes surfaces such as rice paper, water, lava and writhing maggots as effectively solid beneath her feet, though not necessarily harmless. To stop and stand on such surfaces requires a successful reflexive difficulty 2 (Dexterity + Athletics) roll for each action in which the character wishes to maintain balance.

Awareness

  • Awareness Second Awareness Excellency(Awareness 1, Essence 1, pg): 2m per success, Reflexive, Combo-OK, instant.
  • The Exalt may pay up to [Attribute + Awareness] in dice, for every 2m spent, add 1 success to the relevant roll.
  • Awareness Keen (Sense) Technique(Awareness 3, Essence 2, pg 225): 3m, Reflexive, Combo-OK, One Scene.
  • Essence enhances the Solar's Senses. This charm gives two bonus successes on Awareness actions using the relevant senses. It also allows the character to clearly percieve sensory impressions that are normally too faint for human senses to validly observe at all.
  • Hearing and Touch: The character can gauge the quality of fabric with a touch. She reduces the external penalty to target unseen characters to -1 and the internal penalty from blindess to -2. She can hear conversations normally through thick stone walls. With a legendary success, she can read by touch.

Dodge

  • Dodge Shadow over Water(Dodge 3, Essence 1, pg) 1m, Reflexive(step2), Combo-OK, Instant.
  • The chosen moves like shadows over water, with perfect grace and speed. This charm is used in response to an attack. It allows the Exalt to ignore all penalties that apply to her Dodge DV when resolving that attack. Her dodge DV is still 0 against an undodgable attack, but takes no further penalties.
  • Dodge Seven Shadow Evasion(Dodge 4, Essence 2): 3m, Reflexive(Step 2), Combo-OK, Obvious, Instant.
  • This charm is used in response to an attack that is not unexpected. This charm is a dodge that perfectly defends against the attack, even if it's undodgeable.

Silken Armor
(artifact ●●) (Page 159 of Books of Sorcery Volume III, Oadenol’s Codex)

Fluff:
A gift from her parents, after coming to terms with their daughter's Exaltation. It's an ankle-length silk dress with a high collar and slits up to the hip on both sides.

Crunch:
Soak +5L/3B, Hardness --, Mobility -1*, Fatiuge 0, Cost ●●, Attune 2m, Tags N/A,

  • Attunement removes this penalty.

Collar of Dawn's Cleansing Light
(Artifact ●) (Page 380 of Exalted 2nd Edition)

Fluff:
At first glance, this looks like a slim, close-fitting necklace, closer examination reveals that it's made of five thin wires of orichalcum, braided around and clasped around a tiny jewel.

Crunch:
Negates all penalties to Social rolls that would be applied due to the character being dirty or unkempt. Attuning to the collar extends its powers beyond the Exalt's clothing to her physical body. The artifact adds two dice to (Stamina+Resistance) rolls made against disease or poison.

Attune: 1m

Sun-Soul Torc
(Artifact ●●, Orichalcum Hearthstone Bracers)(Page 381 of Exalted 2nd Edition)

Fluff:
They are elegant and sturdy bands of gold emblazoned with the Unconquered Sun. A lucky purchase from a trader up east, who claimed these somewhat unique hearthstone bracers came from the vaults of Denandsor. Regardless of that being true or not, the torcs are real, functioning hearthstone bracers, except worn around the upper arm.

Crunch:
adds +3 to DDV calculation, adds 2 dice to damage.

Attune: 4m
