Description

Location: Removed from the universe, in its own pocket dimensions, a giant solar system with a twin sun. It has a few moons, but they aren't too populated. Mostly used as military stations and factories, both civilian and military ones.

Territorial organization: Sectors: The Empire is divided into 5 sectors: The Central Sector, where the capital of the empire is located, and the North, East, South and West sectors. All the sectors, but the Central sector that is only composed by the capital of the empire, are formed by 55 provinces. Each is controlled by a Imperial Viceroy, designated by the High Council. Provinces: The sectors are divided in provinces that can host millions of habitants and other great wild life under their borders. They usually have one or two major megacities, where most of the population of all the species are located. These megacities usually have a mixed population, but for the sea provinces where the sea folk usually is the majoritarian habitant. Also, there’s multitude of other kinds of cities, towns and villages speeded across the provinces. Each one is controlled by a local governor, designated by the viceroy, by recommendation of the High Council. The major differences between this cities it’s within the gate network that unites the Empire from the great distances that separates its population centers: The Megacities are directly linked with the Capital, and the big cities are linked with the megacities. The other population centers are linked with the big cities with bullet trains. Each Megacity, city or town is controlled by a major, elected by its own people. The Capital: The Capital is one megacity that host almost five hundred million people, being the most populated megacity of the Empire. As a result, it is spread across a surface equivalent to the surface of the modern Russia, as only a few buildings are allowed to be taller than the Emperor’s palace in the city, and there’s a need to build parks and open public spaces such as squares and public open theaters every few buildings. The city is divided into the exterior ring and the inner ring. Within the Exterior ring its placed the vast majority of the population and the most important trade nodes of the empire, being this buildings the only ones that are allowed to be taller than the Emperor’s palace. Within the inner-ring walls the administratium headquarters are located, as well as the great Chathedral of the Empire, where the Eclesiarch is based, and the headquarters of the magic and technological palaces. The Great Hall of Justice is also placed inside of this complex. Officially, no person but the Emperor, the High Council and the servants needed for those two are allowed to reside within the walls of the inner-ring, but since the massive amount of effort that would be need to move the everyday personnel for the other building complex, that law is “unofficially” suspended.

Although the most important and biggest building complex is the Emperor’s Palace, a forbidden place where only those who the Emperor himself invites can enter and see with their own eyes the mightiest building of the Empire. The only ones who are allowed to enter the palace within the direct approval are the Royal Guard, the mightiest warriors of the Imperial Army with silver and golden armors, the High Council members, as the High Council reunites within the palace’s walls, and the servants and other personnel of the palace.

Population: Humanity: The humanity composes the seventy percent of the population of the Empire. As a result, even when only a few of them being a truly powerful individuals, they trend to occupy most of the important posts of the Empire. Most of them have a low innate magical power, so most human never even train them and live all their lives without the use of magic. An average human can live up to 150 years, but also an advanced magical user can reach a form of immortality. Their stature may sometimes differ from the norm (1,6-2m), and you can rarely see tall individuals than can reach the 5 meters with being giants. They’re the most influent traders, and great artist. Also, they’re notable scientists. Elves: The Elves compose the five percent of the population of the Empire. They are a high magical race, but usually they aren’t that good with technology, so they usually are influential in magical related subjects, but not that much in other areas. They divide in multiple races: Forest elves and the Dark forest Elves, who usually don’t care about the other species of the Empire, Dark-elves who live in their own cities close to forest and are most representative members of the Elf-society in the Empire, and the Drows, who usually live in cities with other non-elfish races. Usually don’t respect too much the other races, but the Dragons or the Emperor, seeing the rest as “lower” lifeforms, although that doesn’t stop them from trading and living them, they tend to be a bit too proud with dealing with other races. They are ageless, some even true immortals. They’re excellent artists and magicians. They’re also good in combat and diplomacy. Dwarves: They are roughly the one percent of the empire. They usually live in underground cities or in enormous fortress carved in the mountains. Their lifespan is close to 500 years. Via technology some Dwarves have replaced enough parts of their bodies without becoming a true machine (something that they consider a disgrace for their own, but will gladly do it for any other race), archiving some form of semi-immortality.

They are in charge of most of the scientific and craftwork on the Empire, and they’re the ones that keep in good shape the imperial armies and local forces weaponry and supply ammunitions. They also are expert craftsmen into any kind of technology, as they, working together with the humanity, were the ones responsible of creating the MAGI AIs.

Dragons: Their numbers is close to 50.000 individuals. Do not confound them with their distant cousins the Drakes and Wyverns, as they are proud individuals and with take as an insult to mix them with those lowly animals. Even with their few numbers, they are all in the highest position in either the administratium, the military or the scientific and magical fields. Also, they’re the responsible of most of the technomagic of the Empire, since the Dawvers and Elves usually won’t work together unless they are under the direction of a Dragon. They usually acts as directors and conciliators of the empire. They’re all true immortals, master of most of the areas of knowledge, colossal killing machines when provoked and even masters of the art of shape-shifting.

They bow to none but for the Emperor and his envoys. Anyone without a high authority in the Empire will have a hard time to convince a dragon to do something.

Sea-folk: The Fishermen and mermaids, compose about a three percent of the total population. They’re stronger and more agile than humans, but their inner magical forces and technology are similar. They can live in land also, but they will hardly survive in the hot places without a constant supply of water. They live close to the 300 years. Beast-men: Centaurs, Minotaurs, and any other humanoid hybrid being that is not sea related. They are social and friendly, they are usually in charge of festivals. They can live more than 500 years. Other races: Together, they compose the rest of the Empire’s races. Orc folk: Goblings, orcs, and all that green people that you already know. They are less than the 2 percent of the total population. They vary in size and intelligence, and usually are in charge of simple but important tasks, like working as cooks, assistants of the dwarves and elves craftsmen, and some of them also help this other species as artists. Actually, they’re one of the few races who doesn’t have any warriors of their own, and are a pretty pacific but energetic folk. They have short lives, usually not living more than sixty years. They have a strong magic presence, but they usually lack the concentration to use it, although they’re very professional while doing their assigned jobs. Angels and demons: They’re the servants of the gods and major spirits. They work in the ecclesiarch and in the administration. Not very numerous, but they have strong magical powers. The Angels usually are the envoys of the gods, and the demon their enforcers. They serve the godhood as a whole, not any god in particular. They have both a humanoid form and a beast form, which they can alter at will. They’re stronger in their beast form. Elementals: Ranging from the usual “fire, earth, air and water” elementals, to some abstract concepts as musical, death or live elementals. They live in the wild and usually don’t are in contact with any other races but with other elementals. Their communities aren’t formed from one kind of elemental exclusively, as they tend to group into local communities who share the same area, although not the same element. The air and light elementals usually acts as envoys and link with the other races and the imperium. Steel People: These are no regular automatons, but truly beings capable of rational and independent thought, they are either advanced AIs or other beings who have undergo a process of transformation replacing their old bodies and become a true sentient machine. Either way, they usually are very popular and social, but tend to be few in numbers, since the creation of life in any form is highly regulated by the Inquisition and undergo a process of transformation is very expensive and risky. MAGI AIs: These are a different kind of AIs. Undyingly loyal to the Emperor and his Empire, they are in charge of control most of the burocracy and the servants and automatons that keep the economy working and collect both resources and . They’re closer to a “Data elemental” than a pure AI, as their process of creation requires magic, and they cannot be truly destroyed, even if all their physical supports are removed, they continue to exist. They exist at the same time in all the technology of the Empire. There’re 777 MAGI AIs, who take trillions of decisions together and the same time in less than a picosecond, and support the massive empire with a top communication and administrative infrastructure. Other races include: Shapeshifters, Insect people, slimes, threefolk (they’re not three spirits),

Organization:

Emperor Is the most important figure in all the administration and military forces. Only the Emperor can authorize a full war offensive, using both the Imperial Army and the Servants armies, as well as the only one capable of dictating an execution of a citizen of the Empire, and nullify any decision of any other organism and legislate at any level. The Emperor is also the realm Wizard, Raghu.

High Council The High Council is the second most important organ in the Empire’s administration. Between its functions, it can declare a war against small kingdoms, but only if it’s an act of defense after a previous attack to either the Empire or one of its ambassadors; can rewrite the Empire’s Constitution but in the subject of the figure of the Emperor, the High Council, the other High Organism and the rights and freedoms of the citizens of the Empire. They can also order the detention of any citizen but any other High Lord, a member of any other of the maximum representative organism, usually the Councils, of the Empire or the Emperor himself. They can’t legislate anything but the Constitution, but they can nullify the decisions of the other organisms with a three quarters vote. It’s composed by two “hands”. Each member of each hand has its own method of selection and can only be removed from its position by the Emperor or the organism that put him there. Right Hand: -The Fleet Marshal -The Supreme Imperial Army General -The Mechanicus Representative -The Magical Ministry Representative -The Senatorum Representative

Additionally, with the Right Hand, the following members can participate in High Council reunions, with voice but without vote: -The Maximum Pontificex -The Supreme Court representative -The Father of Dragons

The Left Hand: - The Master of the Coin - The provinces representative - The Chamber of Commerce representative - The Secretary of the Empire’s Industry - The Congress Representative Additionally, with the Right Hand, the following members can participate in High Council reunions, with voice but without vote: -The Elf-King -The Daft High Lord -The Humanity representative -The seafolk representative - The Beast men envoy Armed forces of the Empire: They’re leaded by the military headquarters. Local polices: These forces are dragged directly from the local population. They are capable of defend and maintain control of the city, and even reinforce a main population center if needed. They don’t undergo any genetic modifications, but they

Local militias: They’re in charge of the control of every province and in cases of need, they can assume control of the local polices. They’re based in the main population centers of the province. Also, in case of war, they reinforce the imperial armies. They undergo a basic modifications and have a high local status. Both the local militias and the Imperial armies have their own space battleships and use powerarmors to strength their forces.

Imperial Armies: Composed by genetically modified soldiers, who endure a hard selection process and a long training that can last more than two decades. It’s considered an honor to be part of this elite forces. Most of the high magical population will either join this forces or the administratium. It’s divided into multiple sections: Space Fleet, Earth Troops (this also includes the air forces), Science Division, Warlock Troops, Royal Guard, Magic Studies Division, Special Operations and logistics.

Servant armies: Soulless machines, independent of the MAGI AIs, they compose the vast majority of the military arm of the Empire. They range from the standard terminator troops, to colossal AI Ships that can range the 6km long. They’re usually used as shock troops, and are under direct command of the Emperor and the High Council. They are immune to all kinds of magic and pyshical attacks. They can self-replicate and are capable of absorb any kind of magical energy to release it into powerful attack. A single individual can break a planet into two. The empire has trillions of this troops from all ranges, stored in the most unknown places, with a gateway or portal located and ready to be deployed.

Magic Ministry: It’s composed by all the tier 4 magic creatures. That’s about 50.000 individuals. They’re in charge of the magical and technomagical subjects of the empire. In racial terms, it’s divided into: -Humans: They occupy about the sixty percent of the Ministry, although, they’re usually the most weaker inside the ministry. -Elves: They compose the twenty percent of the Ministry, they’re stronger than humans and usually are in charge of -Dragons: As the vast majority of the dragons occupy a high position in the Empire’s administration, the Magic Ministry is no exception. About a ten percent of the members of the ministry are dragons. They either work in positions of responsibility or into magical research. -Demons and Angels: They are the five percent of the ministry. They are in charge of keep things working, doing both the “nasty” work and overseeing the general organization of the ministry, but they usually lack of members of their races in a position of power. -Other races: The other twenty-five percent of the members of the ministry is composed by diverse races with different magical qualities. The Magical Council is the maximum organ in the Magic Ministry. It’s composed by ten members: A human, who is the constant reincarnation of the most powerful human being, known as the White Wizard, two elves, including the second Elf-king, three dragons, including the Father of the Dragons, a demon and an angel representative, and three rotating members of the other races who are elected within their members each decade. The Magic Council functions range from the control of the Inquisition, supervising the magical forces of the Imperial Army, regulate the magical legislation of the empire, and also elect the magical representive of the High Council, who can’t neither be a human, a dragon or an elf. They work on a Democratic Decision-Making. -The Inquisition: They’re in charge of controlling the magical population of the kingdom, oversee that no one tries to do anything that could result dangerous to the general population, oversee the general magic schools and universities, and also are in charge of judging magical the most serious magical crimes. All the inquisitors are members of the Magic Ministry, and almost the seventy percent of the ministry is composed by inquisitors. The Lord Inquisitor, the most powerful and important inquisitor is elected between and from the Magical Council members. The inquisition has its own Servant army, composed by roughly two million servants, who are under the direct command of the Magical Council and the Lord Inquisitor, to help the Inquisitors carry their duties. Also, in case of some dangerous magical act is recorded, the Inquisitors can also assume temporal control of the local police.

-The Ecclesiarch: In the Empire, the gods are very real, and the religion is important for everyone. Although this religion is nothing compared to either modern monotheist religions, they still influence the lives of all the citizens of the Empire. The most important organ in the Ecclesiarch are the maximum potefixes. It’s always an angel/demon hybrid, and also has a seat in the High Council with voice but without vote.

The Ecclesiarch also has its own military forces, called the Hammers, who are in charge of the security of the Ecclesiarch and its buildings. -The Congress and Senatorum: The congress is the representation of the population and can legislate in matters that doesn’t concern other organism listed here. The Senatorum represents the provinces, and has similar competences but at a more local level. -Administration of Justice: Controls the judges. Placed in the Great Hall of Justice. -Administratium: Divided into the House of Coin, that controls the economy, the house of commerce, that controls commerce, and the house of industry, that controls the industry. Also, they control the High Education Council, that controls the education. Mostly controlled by the MAGI AIs and the Dragons. Society The society of the Empire is similar to the nobility of the Victorian England. All of the basic needs are covered, including electricity, medical treatments, food and housing, by the Empire itself, and most the basic labours are covered by automatons, so the citizens of the empire can center itself more in other areas of work such as science, technology, craftsmanship, education, sports or art. Currency is still on use, but only to supply things such what an average person in the twenty one century in a western country would consider leisure or luxury. As a result, most citizens only do whatever they feel good at, and the educational system has helps with that and preventing non-working citizens to be originated. Although there’s no need for work to access most of the leisure that the world has to offer, not working is a sign of weakness in the society, and a non-worker will mostly become a social reject. Even as harsh as it may sound, something like this is unlikely to happen thanks to the almost-perfect educational system of the Empire, always willing to accept new students and give to them all the knowledge that they may need to life their lives as respectable citizens of the empire.

The government runs smoothly, both with and without the citizen directly participating into it. Decisions are made think for the best of the Empire and its citizens. Also, there are no taxes, since the Empire already control all the resources and the production, all the work of the citizens reverts only onto them, making them even more happier with administration.

As stated before, there’s a big general sense of honor and personal pride extended into the general population, and this is used by the Empire to both control the people and maintain its power and . A citizen of the empire would never think of committing treason, or any other act that would result into bringing shame to oneself or one’s family or clan. This is also tied into the adoration of the Emperor as a divine figure, key figure of the Empire’s Pantheon and “creator” of the Empire and its inhabitants, all beings are programmed to follow the Emperor no matters what. Although this doesn’t mean that they will always follow the Empire itself, so that’s where the educational system and the propaganda through all entertainment systems and official acts (or organized by “independent citizen” associations), make every citizen of the Empire, no matter what its birth place or species, undyingly loyal to the Emperor and his Empire. But this doesn’t prevent the freedom of speech or any other rights and freedoms of the classical liberal systems to exist. There even exist criticism to the Empire and the administration does not only tolerate it but even encourages it, although all stills being inside of the undyingly loyalty that maintains the empire united. The society its respectful with any of its species and different customs, as none is leaved into its own, almost everything is accept by the Empire.

Although virtual reality exist, and is an extended form of relaxation and entertainment, it hasn’t replaced or ever will the material world, as the education system once more, and the virtual reality systems themselves, are designed to prevent such things to happen. There’s also a similar version of the internet, accessible from all personal dispositives, but, in the same way that the Empire prevented people from abandoning reality with virtual reality, this form of communication hasn’t replaced face to face communication.

Theme: A setting that allows freedom and rights, but also an absolute ruler, and mechas, space ships and world breaker robots. Also, most aesthetic is close to a shonen anime, with exaggerated characters designs and localizations, and sometimes situational comedy from this kind of anime too. Friends: They are mostly the staff of the Palace, they are undyingly loyal and all have high powers levels, having all the powers:

-Sebastian from Over Lord: head of staff -Samuel Rodrigez from Metal Gear Rising: Imperial Bodyguard -Ornstein and Artorias from Dark Souls: Imperial Bodyguard -Kizaru from One Piece: Imperial Bodyguard Waifus:

All have immortality and are always willingly to do anything for the realm lord, but they remain with their own personalities. Also have all the power set. -Zero and Two from Drakengard 3 - Haruhi Suzumiya from The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan -C.C. from Code Geass -Akame from akame ga kill.

Artifacts: The Ten Tentacles: A weapon capable of absorb any kind of energy, both magical, living, souls and raw energy, even matter, to create whatever the user desires. Fixed to the Emperor’s Soul. Cannot be destroyed. The Crown of the Emperor: A tool used to control the Servant Armies of the Empire. Fixed to the Emperor’s Soul. Cannot be destroyed. The Servants: The original servants, whom the others are derivative. They’re truly independent, but ultimately loyal to the Emperor. They possess the strength of gods, are capable of self-replicate and are truly the most dangerous of them all. They’re 9, and are tied to the Emperor’s soul and to the Crown, meaning that while either of those still exist, they’ll always come back. Throne of God: An artifact that can manipulate the whole realm, having the power to rearrange everything that it’s between the protection tier 2, and unless the Emperor wises otherwise, the rest of the realm will act the changes never existed, and it would have always be like that. It’s tied to the Emperor’s soul, and can be placed where ever he wants. Currently in the city of the gods, under the capital. If any other being, no matter its power, tries to use it, it will be possibly annihilated. Flora and Nature: Pretty much everything exist. Drakes, wyverns, lesser elementals, spirits, flying beast that are larger than cities, evangelion-like angels who acts as guardians of certain places… Almost everything. There compendium of biology of the realm is an entire library. Most of them aren’t dangerous, but the [ Malice ] makes some of the monsters from the dungeons venture sometimes outside, leading to put in danger the roads and villages, so Adventurer’s guilds populate the realm, to protect its citizens with the direct intervention of the armies. Familiar: Ragnarok is the Emperor familiar. He looks like a giant boxer, with his gloves withe and his skin blacker than coal. Most trusted advisor of the Emperor. He stored all his memories, and the key memories of the emperor when he departed. Magic: Everyone in the realm has an innate magic ability, but some are born with a higher compatibility, making them more provident to magic, that is using one’s soul, or other “mana” source to alter the world. Metahuman population: Everybody has a special skill (like the world of the Light Novel called Over Lord), some may be powerful, others rather insignificant, and many may not even realize what they have until they are in an advanced age. A small part of the population, roughly a 0,0001%, has what you could call “super powers”, but again, most of them aren’t that special (like innate levitation or minor telekinesis), but some of them can grow to have extremely powerful superpowers. Most of them will either join the army or the local polices in order to protect its citizens, as it’s considered a great honor, or become adventurers. Religion: The gods exist, as they are a creation of all the living beings subconscious. They the embodiment of several aspects of reality and emotions, and they’re serve the Emperor, that is the central being of the Religion, considered a God (although he’s a very different kind of being, that has no equal in the whole world of Ysigil). There are many temples dedicated to many gods in different places, there’s a Main or “Great Pantheon”, but also many gods spread through the world. The main gods live in a special realm forbidden to mere mortals, only the higher of each race, and the emperor himself, are allow to visit them, that is right under the Capital, a pocket dimension with its own sky and stars where the main gods, who cannot die no matter what while the thing that they embody stills exists, control the other minor gods, the demons and angels and major spirts. There’s also another throne here called the “Throne of God” reserved for the emperor, whom only he can use and with it he can manipulate the realm to his will. The minor gods usually live close to the cities, forests, lakes, seas, mountains or whatever that they’re supposed to protect and represent, they control the land and the minor spirits and the nature of the area. They can be killed, but they will soon be replaced by another spirit or monster that is close. Sometimes mortals can become gods by killing an old gold or if the god grants its place or fuses with the mortal.

Spirits: There’re many spirits, weak spirits that protect things, the spirits of the death, but no negative spirits. The only ones that can actually damage the mortal realm are the guardian spirits, who become tied to people and have great “superpowers”, and can only be killed by other guardian spirits or by killing the person whom are they tied. Great magicians may kill them with nullification magic, or faith based magic. They’re very rare and have strong powers and great resistance.

After-life: Reincarnation process. Handed by minor gods and some spirits.
