Background

Apex was born and raised in The Realm. He was scouted for his talents in crafting large works, including siege weapons for various legions, and was eventually conscripted as a laborer on Dragon-Blooded Manses. After a particularly successful Wyld Hunt, a manse was seized by the Empire, and a large work force including Apex was sent south, to reforge the Manse to better suit the aesthetics of the House.
