Background

As a mortal, Terror In Tandem was a simple little man from Nexus. Not really, of course. He did a great number of not-so-legal things in the streets of Nexus, from pilfering from passers by, to transporting things under the table for a bit of cash. This wasn't really much of an issue for him, but he spent his whole life under the table. He barely scraped by - up until the point he was offered a job he couldn't refuse. He would distract some patrons in the street while a friend of his picked their pockets. Easy - especially for a man who was getting a bit on in his age. He tripped during his performance, fell off of a hastily made stage, and snapped his neck on the ground.

Next he knew, he was being given another chance to ply his trade of obfuscation by the Shadow of All Things himself. Who was he to say no to another chance at life? He applied his mind and all his failings towards a sweet vengeance on Creation for supplying him with such a piss poor excuse for a life.

Appearance

Terror in Tandem takes much from his Patron Yozi. When he works his magic in creation, he very rarely wears a form which is his own. He often prefers the guise of a vagabond while traveling between cities. He appears as an old man, weary and worn with travel, usually seeming to be from the North.

While in Malfeas, however - he does not usually concern himself with pretense. He wears the gaudy clothes of a court performer - and in fact a bit more. His clothes are baggy, and most of his face is covered by the heavy clothes.. leaving room for only his pitiless green eyes. His voice is smooth, but often-changing in tones. He has the personality of a thinly veiled viper, biting into any weakness even his 'friends' show.

Nemesis Self Imagined Anew. (Essence 2) 1m. Simple. Combo-OK. Gain a motivation contrary to your target's. Gain an intimacy of absolute hatred toward the target.

Shadow Spite Curse. (Essence 1) 3m per -1. Reflexive. Give a -1 external penalty to a foe within Ess x 100 yrds, up to an Essence in negatives.

Seeing Is Blindness. (ess 2). 3m. Supplemental. Combo-Ok. Sorcerous. Obvious. Shaping. If the attack hits, roll Manip + Presence vs Awareness or Perception, whichever is higher. Success blinds the target for the scene.

Soul Crack Exploitation (Essence 2) 1m. Supplemental. Combo-OK. Instant. Makes any influence that target of Nemesis Self Imagined Anew unnatural, lowering target numbers significantly.

Puissance Mimicry Intuition (x3) (Essence 4) 3m. (5/dot of willpower. 6/charm) Simple. Combo-OK. Shaping. Stackable. Lasts until next Calibration. Copy abilities, willpower and charms of your Nemesis as long as they are higher/different.

Cracked Cell Circumvention (Ess 3) 2m,, or 2m + 1wp. Reflexive. Combo-OK. Shaping (with wp.) Aids in getting out of confinement.

Bloodless Murk Evasion (Ess 3) 4m. Reflexive. Combo-Ok. Shaping. Instant. Perfect Dodge against any perceived attack, can't be used against holy effects. Reform within (temp willpower) yards.

Cornered Titan Desperation (ess 3) Permanent. Any ED charms which only effect ranged attacks may be added to any attack provided the target has hit the user, it is calibration, or they block the only means of escape.

Life-Blighting Emptiness Attack (Ess 2) 3m. Add to ranged attack, target if hit takes additional (willpower) lethal piercing damage. Any (nondying) damage done provides additional motes to the infernals pool.

Hollow Echo Venom (Ess 3) Permanent. At the cost of +1 wp to Life Blighting Emptiness attack, the damage(Willpower) occurs again on the following tick and ignores armor. Poison effect.

Loom Snarling Deception (Ess 2.) Simple. Combo-OK. Illusion. Shaping. Costs 8-essence motes (3, currently). Provides a nearly perfect disguise, complete with false destiny. Add (Essence) free successes vs any magical attempts to pierce the veil. Lasts until it's dispelled or the user decides to end it.

Eldritch Secrets Mastery (Ess 3) Permanent. Illusion. While Loom Snarling Deception is active, the user can make his magical traits appear however he wishes.

Inventory

The Compliant Deeper Umbral Panoply. Custom artifact, identical to the Compliant Umbral Panoply except that while using Black Mirror Shintai, the panoply can be used to copy the target's held and worn artifacts, expending essence to 'attune' them as necessary.

MANSE: The House of Convulsion

The House of Convulsion is something of a house of pleasure - and a Malfean Insane Asylum. Terror in Tandem uses his home, which acts as a rather large lightning rod for the many Malfean storms which whip up, as a place to store his many victims. When he has finally driven someone stark-raving mad, he quietly transports them home to Malfeas, to languish here hooked up to any number of macabre devices he's placed to channel the lightning. He invites any still-sane and willing-to-pay patrons of the Demon City to come in and use the poor souls as they see fit - provided that they do kill them. After all, he may still need their form to steal for some purpose.


HEARTHSTONES: Twice-Striking Lightning Prism. For 1 wp, change the calculation of essence for a single charm or essence to +2 it's normal value.
