"But this isn't a cartoon! This is real life!
(facing the viewer) Don't tell him. He might crack."

– Skippy and Slappy Squirrel, Animaniacs

Toon is a role playing game by Steve Jackson Games wherin you create a cartoon character and essentially play with the shticks used in classic cartoons, with emphasis on the Warner/MGM style of the mid-20th century. It emphasizes slapstick, silly effects, and cartoon physics over "real roleplaying" or problem-solving. There is no death to speak of, since most things that would kill you usually end up generating a comic effect. At most when you "Fall Down" you'll reappear a short time later none the worse for wear.

There is a particularly grim and dark adventure that was written for Toon by some guy in the mid 90's, based on Who Framed Roger Rabbit. It's the ultimate in black comedy roleplaying.
