Cities of Myth is a third-party multiverse setting for Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition being released on DriveThruRPG by publisher "Realmswarp Media", based around the idea of a multiverse made up of planes that reflect/embody various fantastical realms from real-life mythologies - King Arthur's Britain, El Dorado, Asgard, etcetera. This multiverse is interlinked by leylines, which are the ultimate source of life and magic.

Currently, only a single subsetting - Fallen Camelot - and a "setting primer" that discusses universal rules and terminology for the metasetting have been released. Two more subsettings (Atlantis Rising and Asgaard/Thule) are scheduled for release in late 2020, with others planned for a post-2020 release.

In their own words, these settings were written and designed with "21st century representation and inclusivity" in mind. Exactly how that comes across is up to you.

Sub-Settings

  • Fallen Camelot - A Welsh mythology inspired setting in which Morgan Le Fae has conquered Britain after destroying Camelot.
  • Atlantis Rising - An underwater high magic setting.
  • Asgaard/Thule - A Norse inspired "magic and tech" setting.
  • Agartha - A Gothic Steampunk setting drawing from Victorian, Tibetan and Lovecraftian themes.
  • City of Night - Slavic inspired, low magic setting.
  • The Dreamscape - Adventuring the Plane of Dreams.
  • Eden - A "mid-magic" setting with "ancient Middle Eastern and Celestial influences"
  • El Dorado - A low magic Central American-themed setting.
  • Floating City of Air - High tech city-setting with capitalistic and urban themes.
  • The Great Plains - A "mid-magic" setting with Native American themes and Cultures.
  • The Old West - Low magic low-tech Western setting.
  • Shangri-la - Low magic setting based on Tibetan mysticism.
