Darahma is a fan-made special character for the Kingdoms of Ind army created by the Warhammer Army Project in their fandex for this unexplored part of the Warhammer Fantasy Battles world.

Amongst the many oddities of the Indan armies are the Devas; daemon-like entities representing the multifarous gods of Ind, from Greater Daemon-like avatars of the Trimurti - the three master gods of the Indan pantheon, to lesser devas. Then there are the Avataras; mortals imbued with deva-like abilities, essentially the Indan version of a Daemon Prince.

Lord Darahma represents an Avatara who was born over a thousand years ago, the firstborn prince of the Kosala Kingdom, until political intrigue by one of his father's harem led to his being exiled for 14 years with his wife Sitra. Then a mighty army of Asuras led by a powerful creature called Narava arrived in Ind; Narava conquered the island of Lanka and terrorized Kosala, kidnapping Darahma's wife Sitra. Enraged, Darahma led a mighty army of vanaras and devas to battle the invaders, and finally slew the Asura's leader at the cost of his own life, an act for which he is now worshipped as the Indan god of virtues, morality, civilization and archery.

On the tabletop, Darahma uses up a Lord slot and costs 320 points. He has the following stats: Movement 4, Weapon Skill 6, Ballistic Skill 6, Strength 5, Toughness 5, Wounds 3, Initiative 6, Attacks 4, and Leadership 9.

He has the following special rules:

  • Noble Caste: May only join a unit with the Noble Caste or Warrior Caste special rule. Treats units with the Warrior Caste or Lowborn Caste special rule as Expendable.
  • Unswerving Loyalty: All friendly models with the Caste rule (whether Noble, Warrior or Lowborn) subtract d3 from their Leadership test result when within 12" of this character.
  • The Avatara: This character has Immunity (Psychology), Causes Fear, Magical Attacks, has a 5+ Ward Save, and has Hatred (Daemons of Chaos). He may join units with the Deva special rule.

He wields a hand weapon, and also carries the magic bow Kondandam, which has a Range of 30", S5, Multiple Shots (4) and Flaming Attacks - also, you get to roll a d6 for each initial unsaved Wound it causes; for each 5+, the target takes d6 S4 hits. He also bears The Brahmirastra Arrow, which can only be fired once; when used, it hits automatically and creates a Large Template with its hole centered on the target, inflicting a S6 Multiple Wounds (D3) hit on anything under the template.
