Deathtouched

Deathtouched is a term introduced in Dragon Magazine #313 in reference to a collection of races defined by being hybrids of living beings (humans, by default) and the undead. The term is obviously inspired by the traditional D&D moniker of Planetouched. It hasn't been widely adopted into /tg/ parlance because, obviously, the races it represents haven't become mainstream members of Dungeons & Dragons, despite their obvious appeal for Dark Fantasy settings.

The five deathtouched races are:

• Dhampir (under the name "Khatane") - Half-Vampire
• Fetch - Half-Ghost
• Ghedan - Half-Zombie
• Ghul - Half-Ghoul
• Mortif - The Tiefling/Aasimar/Genasi analogue of the race.
