The Good guys in the PC game Command and Conquer. The Global Defense Initiative as a futuristic United Nations funded (But they get so powerful that they replace the pussy UN!) counter-terrorist group that turns into a army. Supposedly based off of G.I. Joe but isn't Homo like they are. GDI has Mechs for fucks sake and proceeds to fuck up the Brotherhood of Nod's shit EVERY time...

EA's pantsshittery with C&C 4 made the GDI, or atleast the player's part of the GDI, the bad guys who do little to nothing productive while Kane cleans the world of Tiberium.

Thanks to Electronic Arts, gone are the days when the GDI was awesome enough to have James Earl Jones as a General in their higher command echelons.
