Heraldic Servants are basically magic pokemon that Mystaran Immortals gift to nobles and heroes as a reward for completing quests. In their inactive form they appear as paintings of animals on a coat of arms, such as might be displayed on a shield. Their master can summon them out of the coat of arms and into the real world as a familiar. When summoned, servants have two forms they can shift between: animal and humanoid. Their animal forms are always roughly the height of a person, and their humanoid forms range from furry to elf-like. Those based on aquatic animals can hover a few feet off the ground and "swim" through the air.

Each type of servant has its own special magical abilities.

As long as you are holding or wearing the coat of arms somewhere on you, you get a bonus level and magic resistance while the servant is inactive.
