Liberi Gothica is a homebrew RPG with a victorian steampunk setting, focused on children gaining magical dolls that give them inhuman powers. Started on /tg/ and currently being worked on it's own dedicated forum, Liberi Gothica is the first, and so far only, game world using the TACKS system. These articles serve several purposes. First, to organize the rules for the system in a more cohesive, easy to manage manner during the process of development and playtesting. Second, to allow others access to the current build of the game so they may playtest and understand the game. Lastly, cause all those who work on Liberi Gothica came from /tg/ and want to make sure proper bonds are kept.

Liberi Gothica was formerly known as NecroLoli.

The Liberi

The primary PC option in Liberi Gothica are Liberi. Liberi were once normal children, now bound to a magical doll, called a foci, they have made a contract with. Now they can only survive on human vitality, though as long as they can maintain enough they can live forever. To run out of vitality, the life force of humanity, a Liberi will die, and its foci will seek another host. Liberi also are able to tap into a wide range of magical powers and abilities, which are dependent on the class of their foci.

The Liberi are considered a parasite upon mankind, and they are hated and feared by most people. They are hunted, be it by the Church of the Twelve, the enigmatic Phoenix Initiates or simply by fearful townspeople. The foci tend to only chose those children who have little, live a life of suffering or are near death. In the soot covered streets of the cities or the ignorant reaches of the rural areas of Victoria, the foci have little worry of running out of pitiable children, all too ready to exchange their lot in life for that of a monster.
