Each company's mon is displayed somewhere on the space marine, usually the knee, helmet or back banner. Each daimyo relinquishes his old surname upon reaching this rank, replacing it with his company's name. Some, but not all space marines will do the same to display their loyalty to the company. Each of current chapter masters are named after each historical clan's most prominent daimyo, except for Oda clan, whose chapter master is Oda Hideyoshi as of 882M41, after the Akechi Betrayal which left the previous daimyo, Oda Nobunaga, fatally wounded and confined in a venerable dreadnought. Although he is still considered the chapter master in spirit, Hideyoshi is the acting chapter master.
