Supreme goddess of evil in the Dragonlance setting, Takhisis is incredibly ruthless, powerful, ambitious and cunning, but so much of a treacherous douchebag that she tends to ruin her own plans.

Patron goddess of the Chromatic Dragons and creator of the Draconians, her most famous form is a massive five-headed dragon. As this has led more than one gamer to speculate that she may just be an avatar (or bastardization) of Tiamat, most authors tend to focus on her humanoid incarnations, the seductive 'Dark Temptress' and a fierce warrior-woman. Because it's hard to masturbate to a picture of a dragon, unless you're into that sort of stuff. Pervert.

She is opposed by a god of good stuff "Paladine", who uses Bahamut as his avatar. Between them as moderator is "Gilean", with a librarian avatar. The evil and good gods agree to a 'hands-off' policy, and withdraw their dragons from the world at large, until Tiamat/Takhisis finds a loophole a couple years before the story starts. She also gets straight fucked up by a guy with an epic mustache.

It should also be noted that in the Dragonlance setting, one of her defining characteristics is her apparently pathological tendency to fuck over everyone and anyone who worships/directly works for her/is an important figure in her army, even when such action is detrimental to her long-term goals. It's bad enough that in one of the fluff books leading up to the chronicles series, the black dragon main-character eventually realizes that her god is an untrustworthy, selfish, all-about-me sociopath. Repeat, that is the opinion of A BLACK DRAGON.

Eventually, Paladine is tired of her shit, gives up his immortality, and gets her killed. Seriously, she was a dick.
