Talos Valcoran also known as the Soul Haunter was a traitor Marine of the Night Lords legion. He was "gifted" with foresight just like his Batshit insane daddy. When Said "gift" was realized he would succumb to a seizure and black out for hours or even days in the worst cases. He would then experience dark and fucked up visions of possible futures yet to come. Most of these visions involved his and his warbands failure and death in gruesome details. Quite understandably he was having issues coping with that and he was left with an emo streak akin to a father in mid-life crisis. That's not to say he gave up on his goals. He was always reminiscent of his Legion's past glories and he had not fully forgotten (like most of the Night lords had) the ultimate goal of taking Terra and Big E down. The Irony of it was that his legion had never been truly Glorious, furthermore he lacked the drive and vision on how to unite the Night lords who were by the time scattered and frankly did not give a shit about anything other than terrorizing, murdering and terrorizing while murdering any unfortunate imperials they stumbled upon. Left with insurmountable obstacles like dying by his unstable geneseed (thanks batdad) , an unwilling warband and his own conflicting ideals he made the best out of it by taking over his warband, stealing a ship only to lose his and leading them onto a suicidal trip down memory lane at their old batcave .

Biography

Talos was born on Nostramo after Psycho batman was long gone and the city had declined again in their decadent ways of crime corruption and lack of general decency. He was picked as a space marine candidate (after already committing his first kill) which was not really that different since the Night lords were already filled to the brim with murderers rapist etc, all the garden variety scum Nostramo had to offer. He started as an apothecary of the Night Lords' 10th Company but was quick to rise as he was close to daddy most likely because they shared the shame gift, something that the other Night Lords weren't too happy to witness. After batdad suffered the most lame death a primarch could, he alone (at first) chased the assassin killing her but not before relieving her of her sense of sight and hearing in a badass duel. Note that callidus assassins could take a space marine easily so he got that going for him. That was the act that got him the title Soul Haunter.

Fast forward some millennia because of timey wimey warp shenanigans Talos served under the Exalted warband being all emo about their sorry state, their leader being a corrupt abomination and a bottom bitch to Failbaddon. Said Armless failure developed an interest for Talos because of his visions to which Talos appropriately responded by saying he didn't think they could win the fight against Emps and he wasn't interested in joining him in his failures. After ditching Abaddon the Warband would cooperate with the Red Corsairs to fuck with the Marines Errant and right after that they would steal one Cruiser from Lugft Huron as a practical joke with the help of Variel the Flayer (after Talos sweetalked him into betraying the corsairs and joining the Night Lords). Needless to say the corsairs didn't appreciate the joke and chased after the warband destroying their first ship with the Exalted inside.

After this event Talos assumed command of the warband or what was left of it and headed for their old base of operations, the planet Tsagualsa in order to rebuilt their strength. There they found out in disbelief that the planet was colonized by imperials which went swimmingly for the colonists. In the meantime Talos getting bored of just murdering imperial citizens orchestrated an astropathic blackout the Night lords way. He gathered and personally tortured every gifted psyker in the planet for days and just when they were on the verge of dying he transferred all their pent up anguish and pain via his Navigator to every nearby astropath driving them berserk in the process and making every form of communication with those planets unavailable. In one stroke of sadistic genius he cut off dozens of planet from the wider imperium which is just a tad worse than cutting the internet from the average guy.

That victory was short lived since the Eldar came for Talos in their old fashioned dickish ways to stop some disastrous prophecy bullshit unleashing a Phoenix Lord no less. In the ensuing battle most of the eldar forces were eradicated just as the Night Lords. In the final duel Talos went out like a badass, grievously wounding the phoenix lord using some krak grenades. So he got shit done after all. It is suggested that his geneseed (and his will) survived and was implanted to a new character named Decimus who presumable inherited the best qualities of the warband.
