Two Sisters of Battle, Lost To The Imperium
Part One[edit | edit source]
The two Sisters of Battle laid next to each other on their beds, staring at the starry sky through the window. They had been separated from Imperial forces for around a year, during which time they lived off the land of the Aeldari maiden world they found themselves on. In their modest home, they rested and held hands on their cot. Jane, a beauty among her battle sisters who possessed dark and lengthy hair, nuzzled her lover’s youthful visage. Arya, who carried with her a blanket of white hair on her head, gave Jane kisses and pecks on her head. The day’s work was done and so they did what they loved, express their gratitude for having each other. “Jane?” Arya inquired, yawning with the night’s fatigue. “Yes, my little angel?” Jane responded, yawning as her lover did. “Do you think the Imperium will find us?” Arya asked, as she did every night before. Jane gave the only answer she knew. “I don’t know, baby. But I hope they never do.” She responded in a gentle tone, enough to lull an Astartes to sleep, and pulled her lover closer to her bosom. Arya smiled as her eyelids got heavier and her vision grew dark “I love you, honey.”
Part Two[edit | edit source]
For 2 standard Terran years had the sisters been stranded on the planet of Varis. Warp storms had cut them off from the Astronomican’s light and attacks from Chaos and Xenos, while not outrageously deadly, were common. Jane and Arya’s hope of returning to the Imperium came back some time ago but had been eroded away by the long days of isolation. These feelings of lost hope, while mutual, went unsaid. Until, that is, one night while they gazed stars.
The sisters had finished their work and gazed at the silver jewels that dotted the sky. Arya turned to Jane and nervously cleared her throat. “J-Jane? I don’t think the Imperium’s going to find us.” She said, looking down in sadness and shame.
Jane balled her fist and held back sadness. “No, they have to find us. They have to! We are their holy warriors!” She fell into Arya’s bosom, little droplets of tears falling.
Arya began to weep as well, trying her best to comfort her companion as well. “I know, but we must acknowledge the truth. The Imperium has not come for 2 years, they might not come at all. You and I both know how slow their bureaucracy is.”
Jane wiped both of their tears. “I know but... I thought... I thought the Emperor would not abandon us.”
“The Imperium has abandoned us but with faith the Emperor will not.” Arya said, affirming her and Jane’s faith.
Jane sniffled. “Right. I have the Emperor.” She nuzzled Arya’s gentle and soft nose. “And you.”
