Background

Seven Timely Insights was a member of an artifact hunting team that scoured the scavenger lands. After an accident, his team was trapped in a first age tomb. As the team's savant, he turned to his abilities to try and create a means of escape for himself and his comrades. As time drew on, he grew more and more discouraged. The devices were too advanced or too well guarded, and their supplies and nerves were running low. When he finally declared it was impossible and they were all doomed, violence broke out. The party tore itself apart, and he only survived by ducking into a passageway that only he had figured out how to pass down without setting off the defenses. As the last lights went out and the screaming stopped, he was approached by a glittering light in the darkness speaking promises of absolute knowledge...

Reborn as The Flatterer of Forgotten Genius, he began his quest to capture and corrupt the devices of the First Age to the purposes of the Yozi and his own ego. Five years ago, he and a small coven penetrated into the heart of Denandsor and gained access to the cities defenses. Since then he has worked tirelessly turning the empty city to his purposes. The automaton guardians now move constantly, directed by a central mind now corrupted into a Hellforged Wonder, and the miasma that once drove trespassers mad with fear now presses down on their will with the caged madness of Malfeas, robbing them of their volition and turning them into willing slaves.

The looting of the City of Makers has finally begun in earnest under the cover of the greater chaos, and long lost wonders are being dusted off, analyzed and converted into tools for the Yozis and their servants. The workshops and forges of the city, preserved by ancient magic, are now becoming a home away from home for the artisans of Malfeas, and Liger himself has recently made a visit.
