Background[edit]

A Sidereal Exalted of honest face and a knack for Fate, discovered wandering far to the East. He accepted the offer of training and safety (under duress of the Wyld Hunt).

He was assigned due training to make himself more easily placed in situations that do not require more than friendliness and a bit of searching. Due to his knacks, his bureaucratic knowledge was gained by working with the archives of Fate. In that dusty and lonesome area he spoke to what seemed to be able to hear, even if they did not: The pattern spiders. A few years one even seemed to become a "friend."

Afterward, he met the Sideral court of internal affairs.

"But... what have I done wrong?"

"You have bound one of the ancient pattern spider to yourself. This carries its own difficulties and distraction the construct from the Loom of Fate. Further, you yourself have directly tampered with and removed the spider without proper authorization."

"...Well, er, at least what needed to get done, right?"

"Yes, but that is another offense. Due to lack of actual damage in the process, we are overlooking it-this time. As such, you have been deemed temporarily unfit for working there. Until you have been re-assigned, consider yourself temporarily dismissed and under house arrest."

T_T

With a heavy heart he headed home, nervously awaiting the outcome of what he had done. Within three days a box had been sent to his home. It contained his spider-which immediately leapt onto his face-a starmetal pistol with 6 etched on the side, a piece of paper, and an envelope. The paper was a registration slip for a Disintegrator.

The envelope was his new job: Locate errant Sideral Exalts and all others altering the Loom of Fate. If possible, recruit them. If they are deemed too dangerous and refuse recruitment, kill them and then remove them from the Loom if necessary. Further, he is to locate and confiscate the plans for a vehicle called "The Metal Slug."

After three years his assignment would come up for review. Until that time, he is not allowed back into the Blessed Isles.

Appearance[edit]

A deeply tanned, nut-colored man with cropped black hair and an easygoing smile usually on his face. Wears sleeveless shirts of fine cloth, and pants tucked into black bull leather boots. On his belt is a pistol and a blade, along with simple gray bracers on each wrist. A bright green bandanna on his head hides a pattern spider lurking beneath. He stands at six feet four inches, with yellow irises and pupils with yellow flecks. He carries a small bag with scrolls poking out slung over his back.

Inventory[edit]

Executioner Pistol - This relatively modern weapon is an adjustment to the more well-known Alchemical Fire weapons, only cast in starmetal and covered with patterns. It is no different from the original except for form... and to the purpose to which it can be put. Other than firing yellow-blue balls of flame, this weapon has qualities that are useful to Sidereals and their agents. Two motes may be invested when firing to decrease an opponent's soak by one, and if they are successfully killed (or destroyed, if object) during this they and their equipment completely dissolve into gas. Further, 3 additional motes can be invested to remove the target from Fate. Having this weapon unregistered is a level 4 offense. Using it inappropriately is a level 6 offense.

Widest Smile's Laughter - A starmetal sai with material derived from a particularly traitorous Fire God whom infamously attacked guests in his own party with an army. He was later replaced by a less troublesome fellow. This fate-crafted weapon allows an attuned wielder to make attacks with the blade as if it was an area effect weapon, with a range equal to that of your striking range. For example, if there were two people on either side of the person you were actually attacking and another tied to your target by a rope, you could hit all enemies within melee range and slash the rope with a single blow. Requires 5 motes of commitment.

Hearthstone Bracers - Made with starmetal, these simple armbands require 4 motes of commitment and have one hearthstone slot. Adds +3 dodge. Then +1 accuracy, and +1 defense (to weapons).

Manses and Heartstones[edit]

Haemal Keckal #47

Sentient 5 pts. Originally designed in the First Age by a Solar, this sentient mansion has become extremely bitter after someone revealed what happened to its' creators within the halls. Once prime real estate has now become a sadistic intelligent that holds all Sidereals entering with contempt and actively attempts to kill dragon-blooded. Fortunately, it's not equipped with deathtraps or weapons.

Puzzle Manse 3 pts. Oversight can't even find the bathroom half the time.

Mela's Sweet Whisper 2 pts. Usually used by the Manse to taunt or otherwise insult those entering.

Gem of Inner Light

This 5-dot hearthstone makes the owner's own desires and wishes immediately self-evident, causing a clarity of understanding and the ability to impress that upon other people. It provides immunity to unnatural mental influence and grants +2 MDV against social attacks based on deception. However, using intimacies or other forms of emotional leverage (such as blackmail) reduces MDV by 2. -I'm not actually sure about this one, personally. Note to ask about it.
