Background

Ethan Fintan has had to go through a lot of hardships and a lot of people to obtain the redemption that has purified his Solar shard and restored it to its former glory. House Cynis' thousand-man strong legion now fills the very forest they ambushed from as its own graveyard. Han-tha, the former controller of Rathess and the dreaded cannibal god, now exists as a starmetal meteor in Ethan's possession. The Dowager of the Irreverent Vulgate, who destroyed the lives (both figuratively and literally) and sanity of an uncountable amount of children, is left reduced to a massive chunk of whimpering soulsteel ore, laid low by his comrades and her enemies. Mask of Winters, the entity responsible for Ethan's former self, was fooled in the core of his own fortress, having had the exalt in his grasp for the better part of a day, only to find him escaped and his monstrance of celestial portion in ruins. Yu-Shan itself couldn't manage to keep the then-death-knight now-Solar out of the Jade Pleasure Dome, where, blindfolded, Ethan found the patron of his rebirth for the second and possibly last time, restoring his right to be called an inhabitant of Creation and enabling him to serve the god of Victory instead being shackled to the Neverborn. Although the taste of redemption is sweet on his tongue, Ethan cannot allow all of this built momentum go to waste. Having vowed to either destroy or redeem every single one of Mask's abyssals plus the deathlord himself, he focuses now on this task, unaware that it will ultimately lead to hurrying to the aid of an entire empire that hates him: the Dragon-born on the Blessed Isle.

Appearance

Ethan wears a dark blue overcoat on top of dependable matching dark blue pants with various utility pockets and a fine black shirt. He has covered his hands with leather work gloves and also wears a pair of stylish-looking stinger boots. He is devoid of much physical strength, but paradoxically tough and extremely agile. Commonly seen smoking one of Yu-Shan's finest cigars, Deadboy 49's (the only cigars to receive the Maiden of Endings' seal of approval) the premier smokes for roaming gentlemen and millennia-old traveling dragons alike. He possesses a slightly tanned skin tone, looking to be fairly gentle in manner and expression most of the time, though his expression is just as easily able to become stern or angered. He has short white hair.

(Lore) Wyld Cauldron Technology: -, Permanent, Instant. This charm greatly enhances Wyld-Shaping Technique, making anything it creates permanent and real. Some of the rules and benefits of creating certain things are changed and/or improved.

(Melee) Second Melee Excellency: 2m/1suc, Reflexive, Instant. Adds 1 success to a melee roll for every 2 motes spent.

(Melee) Infinite Melee Mastery: 2m+, Simple, One Scene. For every 2 motes spent on this charm, reduce the costs of the first three melee excellencies by one.

(Melee) Dipping Swallow Defense: 2m, Reflexive, Instant. Activated in response to an attack, this charm allows the Exalt to ignore all penalties that apply to Parry DV when resolving that attack.

(Melee) Bulwark Stance: 5m, Reflexive, Until Next Action. This charm causes the character to ignore penalties that apply to his Parry DV until his next action. This includes penalties invoked by his own attacks.

(Melee) Fivefold Bulwark Stance: 5m+1wp, Simple, One Scene. For the remainder of the scene, this charm removes the onslaught penalty other characters' attacks impose on the Exalt's DV. It also reduces the defense penalty imposed by each action the Exalt takes by one, to a minimum of zero.

(Melee) Solar Counterattack: 3m, Reflexive, Instant. This charm enables the Lawgiver to counterattack any incoming attack until the beginning of his next turn.

(Melee) Ready in Eight Directions Stance: 5m, Reflexive, Until Next Action. Until his next action, whenever he uses his Parry DV against an attack, this charm provides him with the option to make a counterattack.

(Melee) Heavenly Guardian Defense: 3m, Reflexive, Instant. Activated in response to an attack, this charm causes the Lawgiver to perfectly parry the blow.

(Resistance) Essence-Gathering Temper: 1m, Reflexive, Instant. The Solar invokes this charm when hit by an attack with the potential to damage him - that is, an attack with a calculated raw damage exceeding his hardness which therefore rolls at least one die of damage. The Solar rolls two dice for each damage die rolled. For each success on this roll, to a maximum of his Stamina in successes, the lawgiver receives a number of motes of Essence equal to his permanent Essence score. The Solar cannot gain more than 20 motes in this way.

(Dodge) Reflex Sidestep Technique: 1m, Reflexive, Instant. The Exalt invokes this charm in response to an unexpected attack. The attack is no longer unexpected. This allows the character to use his Dodge DV and charms against the attack.

(Occult) Terrestrial Circle Sorcery: -, Permanent, Instant. This charm allows the character to take Terrestrial Circle Sorcery actions.

(Occult) Celestial Circle Sorcery: -, Permanent, Instant. This charm allows the character to take Celestial Circle Sorcery actions.

(Occult) Solar Circle Sorcery: -, Permanent, Instant. This charm allows the character to take Solar Circle Sorcery actions.

(Occult) Spirit Detecting Glance: 3m, Reflexive, One Scene. The charm lets the character see, hear, smell, and feel - but not touch - dematerialized creatures.

(Occult) Spirit-Cutting Attack: 1m, Supplemental, Instant. This charm enhances an attack, making dematerialized creatures within the attack's normal range valid targets. This attack deals aggravated damage to spirits, materialized or otherwise.

(Occult) Rings of Spiritual Frailty: 12m+1wp, Supplemental, One Scene. All immaterial beings within (Occult x 20) yards become visible and susceptible to material attacks. The holy blaze permeates the substance of creatures of darkness, increasing all their charm costs by a number of motes equal to the Solar's essence.

Inventory

The Foot in the Grave(Artifact 5): Ethan's royal orichalcum warstrider. Although originally taken from the Solar Cache, Ethan has both renamed and tweaked the warstrider to helping him achieve both vengeance and heroism. Standing at a good 25 feet and resembling an armored knight carved from metal (armor plates and all). Inspired by Sol Invictus' own four-limbed anatomy, Ethan has restored functionality to two bladed limb-like "wings" below the arms, re-enabling the first age flight system of the warstrider. Its name comes from the image of a metal boot cramming a zombie back into the grave it tried to crawl out of. Soak 26, Strength 16, Mobility -2, Fatigue 2, Attune 23.

Orichalcum Warstrider Goremaul(Artifact 3): Foot's primary armament, a massive hammer with both heads having a grid-like pattern on both ends, causing it to disturbingly resemble a very sophisticated meat tenderizer. Speed 5, Accuracy +2, Damage +32B/8, Defense +2, Rate 3, Minimum Str 12, Tags O P.

Warstrider Flight System(Artifact 5): Foot's only auxiliary system. While Foot is in flight, the flight system adds 5 to Ethan's Dodge DV and Dexterity-based rolls involving flight. Its normal flight speed is equal to its standard movement rate multiplied by the system's artifact rating (5). It can achieve a top speed of its artifact rating x 30 (150) miles per hour.

Manses and Hearthstones

Death-Sense Stone(Manse 5, Level 3 Hearthstone): Enables Ethan to sense deaths that occur in a one mile radius, locate any deaths that have occurred within the last month, and tell that exact moment of each death.

Gemstone of the White Jade Tree(Level 3 Hearthstone): Halves post-soak damage done to Ethan, rounding up, but causes him to move at half-speed, rounding down.

Necropolis(Manse 5): Stolen from Mask of Winters, Necropolis houses Foot's hangar and is a sentient, self-aware structure.
