Background[edit]
Lily was always a popular girl, growing up. She was the organizer behind every party, the one who made the money to fund them, and the one who had the most fun (or so it would seem.) Her parents, both Wood aspects of decent breeding in a tiny (but lucrative) house, expected her to do well- which is why, when they died, they left all the money of the house to her. There was, however, a condition- she had to have Exalted to be eligible for the wealth.
Years passed, and when she passed her 20th birthday, it became clear to the servants who remained in the house that she was probably not going to Exalt. A series of legal and bureaucratic scrutinies followed, eventually culminating in the final decision: the resources of her house would pass into a distant uncle in the Realm. Lily was furious- and suspected foul play as well. The uncle in question was already incredibly rich, with servants, a high-paying job... a job that paid enough to bribe legal investigators, no doubt. She refused to take it lying down, and in the days between the decision and the act of taking it away, worked day and night without resting, poring through legal documents, finances, searching for some sign to confirm her hypothesis.
The caste mark was already burning on her brow when she found it on the night before the people were set to arrive. When they did, she not only convinced them through all her proof that the distant uncle had lied about who he was to get the money, but while she was at it, convinced them that she deserved it.
