Background

Stiletta used to be a chef's assistant in The Lap, usually running around town and picking up supplies for her boss, Dances In Tall Grass. One day, an important order came in while Dances was sick: The King of The Lap wanted a cake baked for a big parade. Well, Stiletta had been a chef's assistant for almost two years, she could handle a cake, right? Unfortunately, Stiletta hadn't actually learned anything about cooking, and all she had managed to make was a burned lump of dough and frosting and a horribly messy kitchen. As The King himself was approaching the kitchen to pick up his abortion of a cake, Stiletta's survival instincts kicked in and she ran out the backdoor, through the streets of the Northleg and into The Fold, where she took up hiding in a rarely-used warehouse. Knowing she failed herself, Dances In Tall Grass, and The King, she cried behind a crate of stale bread. After maybe an hour, she heard beautiful music that pulled at her heart. She looked up and saw a woman with weird, wiggling hands that had too many fingers, and she asked if she would like to use her feet for running away from problems or stepping on them.

So on and so forth, Stiletta became an Infernal. And lost all pigmentation.

One day in Malfeas, Stiletta was sitting in a bar with some demons arguing about something demonic, how best to sever a limb with a blunt object or whatever. Suddenly, someone ran in screaming "SESSELJAE! HUNDREDS OF 'EM! AND THEY'RE COMING THIS WAY!" As we all know, sesseljae, or stomach bottle bugs, love to go inside people and drink the alcohol right out of them, ruining potentially hours of drinking (and the stockpiles of any bars and taverns they swarm). Stiletta asked the bartender if there was anything she could do, and the bartender gave her a heavy backpack filled with all the bottles of booze he could stuff in it and just told her "Run." And run she did, out the backdoor, out the alley, and down the street with a swarm of sesseljae hot on her tail. (more to come)

Appearance

Stiletta stands a tall 5'10" with her long dancer's legs. She is incredibly athletic, and would be considered very attractive if she weren't ghostly pale. Her stark white hair is so long it brushes the ground, but Stiletta keeps it in a very complicated braid that doesn't go much longer than her thighs. To protect her skin from the southern sun, she wears thigh-high boots and short-shorts, as pants or a skirt would hinder her mobility. Elbow-length gloves cover her arms and hands without the need for sleeves, and if she really must be out in the sun she wears a red hooded cloak.

Traits

Kojekarudamopuv, Stiletta's angyalka coadjutator: Ko-Ko was a harpist, and she loved to play music. Now, she gets to keep on eye on Stiletta, although this eye also gets distracted by shiny objects. She's a fast thinker, and this suited well for a scourge, though like Adorjan herself lacks direction. When Ko-ko isn't pointing out random interesting things, she's playing music in Stiletta's head and colorizing her adventures and day to day business with song. This also just happens to include dramatic DUN-DUN-DUNNN's when something is about to happen and WAH-WAH-WAAAHHH's when she screws up.

Afflictions:
Prehensile Hair - Stiletta's hair can be manually controlled, even to inflict damage. (speed 4, acc +3, dmg +2B, def +2 rate 4)

Deficiencies:
Hunger - nom nom nom, gotta eat 25% more than normal, can only go half as long without food before penalties set in, and penalties increase ever half-day.
Temperature Sensitivity (Heat) - Increases diff of survival rolls by 1, diff of resist rolls to avoid damage increased by 2.

  • (Adorjan) Wind-Born Stride (Ess 2 p141-2): Permanent, Stackable. Add (Ess*2) to (Dex) for the purpose of Dashing speed, Dashing has no DV penalty, automatically crosses treacherous terrain without a roll, and wound penalties don't count for Dashing. Also counts as base speed for other speed-increasing effects. Bought three times.
  • (Adorjan) Death-Dealing Journey (Ess 2 p142): 3m, Reflexive, Combo-OK, Velocity, Indefinite. Dashing becomes a reflexive action, deactivates if character stops dashing.
  • (Adorjan) Who Strikes The Wind? (Ess 2 p142): 3m, Reflexive (Step 2), Combo-OK, Velocity, Instant. Perfect dodge, can only be performed while moving faster than base movement speed.
  • (Adorjan) Joy In Violence Approach (Ess 2 p142): 1m/sux, Supplemental, Combo-OK, Instant. Adds 1 success per mote up to (Lower of Dex or Wits), regain 1wp from using it for the first time in a scene, regain 2wp if using it to join battle in social combat. Must start the fight to regain wp.
  • (Adorjan) Unimpeded Perfection of Exertion(Ess 2 p146): Permanent. While dashing, automatically maintain balance, add (lower of Dex or Athletics) to difficulty to track, and add an artificial specialty of Stealth (Moving Silently +3).
  • (Adorjan) Gravity-Rebuking Grace (Ess 2 p146): Permanent. While dashing, character can run along vertical and inverted surfaces.
  • (Adorjan) Faster Than Sight (Ess 3 p147): 5m, Combo-OK, Obvious, Velocity, Indefinite. Either -2 external to notice or attack, or +2 sux to stealth rolls, but not both.
  • (Adorjan) Sacred Kamilla's Inhalation (Ess 2 p147): 1m/corpse, Combo-OK, Stackable, Instant. Run away from corpse within (Ess x 10) yards, corpse dissolves into essence and the scourge inhales it. Each inhaled corpse allows safe breathing for 1 day.
  • (Adorjan) Broken Silence Laughter Defense (Ess 2 p148): 1m (+4m), Reflexive (Step 2), Combo-OK, Instant. 1m to make any mental influence Obvious, additional 4m surcharge to perfectly parry it. Surcharge is waived if character hasn't made a vocal utterance in the scene.
